Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- Millian CChicago, IL4 contributionsStopped in to see a Cubs game while on a baseball road trip. What an amazing stadium. We found it easy to get to using the Chicago L subway system. For such an old and iconic stadium it is unbelievably clean! Even the brick looks fresh. Every usher we met was friendly and helpful as well. We truly enjoyed the game and just the Chicago Cubs experience as well.Written 8 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The guides are knowledgeable and make the experience truly engaging. - TennisStar602New Jersey712 contributionsMy family and I traversed through this area before and after we went to Wrigley Field. This neighborhood felt safe, and it was very dense with pedestrian traffic and police patrols. It was difficult to find parking. There was an abundance of stores, of restaurants, and of bars. I admired the large number of apartment buildings which faced Wrigley Field. This area was extremely walkable.Written 21 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- JazzySharChicago, IL119 contributionsThe Mercury Theater is a very quaint and intimate theater. There isn’t a bad seat in the house. The sound was excellent. I attended the Women of Soul production; it was awesome.Written 7 March 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - CheekyLondonSouthend-on-Sea, UK1,658 contributionsWe went here to see the Blue Man Group. It was a very unusual and interesting show. The people we were with didn't think it was up to the previous Blue Man show that they had seen, but we had no comparison so we thought it was a bit of fun. The theatre is very basic with scaffold style appearance. There is a small bar and a small gift shop. They are very strict about showing covid certificates and wearing masks.Written 8 December 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Al from ChicagoChicago, IL11 contributionsThe best spot for independent cinema in Chicago. Good balance of international, indie, and cult movies. Good atmosphere and friendly staff in a nice, walkable neighborhood.Written 9 June 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - wheatonnitzWheaton, IL715 contributionsMy son and I saw John Cleese at The Vic and had a great time. Parking across the street is easy and the venue was perfect for the event. The old theater has personality and the staff was friendly. They had a few bars, but we didn’t have anything other than water, but surprised it was only $2 a bottle. Well done.Written 13 June 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- lag726Saint Charles, MO178 contributionsWe were at the rooftops on Saturday and had a blast! The only complaint was the chicken was a bit over cooked. We enjoyed the wide variety of food and drink and loved the outdoor seating. The male bartenders were great, as was the food service staff! Great times, great memories!Written 23 September 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- wheatonnitzWheaton, IL715 contributionsI had a customer event at the rooftop on the left field four pole and it was Good. The food was good and so was the service. The view was as expected from where we were, but it was fine. I was there to show my customer and their employees a good time and to get to know some of them a little better and that’s what I did. Thank You!Written 19 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- HLLMount Laurel, NJ10 contributionsThere’s a reason why this show has stood the test of multiple decades. It’s just fun and entertaining AND family friendly.
The music (heavy in percussion of course) is also great. Lots of energy and fun vibes. And, it’s not uncomfortably loud (it’s loud but my ears weren’t ringing afterwards).Written 6 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. There are many sports bars, pubs and restaurants in the neighborhood, even a luxury hotel. Start with a visit to Gallagher Way. Located at 3635 North Clark Street, at Addison, directly adjacent to Wrigley Field, in the Lakeview neighborhood, it offers many attractions for adults and children alike. And you can watch the game on TV. It is a bustling hub for neighbors, fans and tourists, whether the Cubs are playing or not. Gallagher Way is an open-air green spaces that is opens to ticket holders on game day and the general public during community events such as outdoor film screenings, fitness classes, musical concerts, farmers' markets and art shows. On game day, Gallagher Way is as much fun as a seat in the left-field bleachers. The space is open to ticket holders from one hour before the gates opens to one hour after the game ends. Throughout the game, guests can enjoy a live telecast of the game on the giant video board, live music, food and drinks. Even a visit from Clark, the Cubs' mascot. Stretch out on the grass and let your kids burn off some steam. Standard operating hours ares 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Among the individual retailers and bars and restaurants are Alma at Hotel Zachary, Smoke Daddy, Swift &Sons Tavern, McDonald's, DraftKings Sportsbook, Cubs Store, Big Star, Budweiser Brickhouse Tavern, Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams, Mordecai & Hush Money and Lucky Dorr Patio and Tap. There is one hangup, however. Limited street parking. Whenever my wife and I go to Wrigley Field, we take the Clark Street bus to Addison. Use public transportation.Written 20 June 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- RJK_ChicagoDeerfield, IL583 contributionsWe came here to the ‘Paris, The Show,’ a group of French performers who sang and entertained via the vehicle of WWII and post WWII music: Yves Montand, Edith Piaf, Charles Aznavour, Jacques Brel, etc. It was amazing and the venue was just small and intimate enough to be perfect acoustically. It is not a small place, but it is also not huge. It is a great location: a beautiful Lakeview neighborhood and has street parking. Don’t miss it.

This theater company is superb. Close in seating adds to the engagement with the actors. The scene between the Queen and PM Thatcher was the most memorable I've witnessed on any stage on three continents...I wanted to yell hoorah but kept my tongue. Just go and enjoy!Written 7 September 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
