Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Beautiful area to walk / run / jog or dog walk. The boats are great and pass close to the shore so it’s always a vibrant and exciting place.

The 606 is similar to the Highline in NYC where the trail is elevated on old train tracks. Love all the plants and trees lining the pathway. They were all well maintained and there’s a variety of plantings. Not very many benches to rest on the pathway but many street exits if you chose to explore the neighborhoods. Damen St in Wicker Park is perfect for drinks & a bite to eat. Just be careful when walking on the trail because there can be a lot of bikes. Definitely a nice alternative trail in Chicago besides the lakefront. Will be back!

Always breathtaking, we walked from Millennium Park along the lakefront to Oak Street Beach. The view out across the lake and back into the City are awesome and the walk is very easy

I like this better than New York's High Line, on which it was obviously modeled. The main difference is that the High Line is crowded with people at all hours, while the Bloomindale Trail (or 606) has plenty of visitors, but it never feels crowded. It goes through pleasant mostly residential neighborhoods, and there are nice views of the city, particularly while walking eastward. There is easy access to the 'L' from the blue line station at Western/Milwaukee and from bus lines on almost every north/south cross street.

The north branch of the Chicago River has a celebrated history when it comes to natives and settlers alike. The woods have produced evidence of indigenous settlement and even the likes of Kinzie put roots down in these parts on the river. I grew up in these woods so for me nostalgia plays a part in its magnetism. The begining of a bike path starts right on Foster and continues north to the Chicago Botanical Gardens. I would only hope that future visitors be more litter conscious and respect the well trodden dirt paths along the river bank. Read up on the history before visiting and the place will come alive.

It is a nice biking trail, however for some unknown to me reason I think there was too much broken glass on it. Is it not cleaned too often? Also information boards are scarce and if they exist they are almost unreadable (painted over with graffiti or just damaged). It would be nice to have more information borads on the way so bikers know where they are going and are not lost (there are some changes on the trail that may be confusing, or trails is ending sometimes and bikers need to stay on the street).
