Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Docent was totally knowledgeable, gave us lots of great information about not only the architecture itself - wonderful Louis Sullivan architecture that shows a lot of empathy for the culture that would inhabit the church, but also about the style that this congregation worships in. A hidden treasure in Chicago in the wonderful neighborhood of Ukrainian Village.

The 606 is similar to the Highline in NYC where the trail is elevated on old train tracks. Love all the plants and trees lining the pathway. They were all well maintained and there’s a variety of plantings. Not very many benches to rest on the pathway but many street exits if you chose to explore the neighborhoods. Damen St in Wicker Park is perfect for drinks & a bite to eat. Just be careful when walking on the trail because there can be a lot of bikes. Definitely a nice alternative trail in Chicago besides the lakefront. Will be back!

Words can’t express how beautiful historic inner-city church’s are. This parish was established by Polish immigrants around the turn of the century. I went to a Latin mass Monday morning.

Was browsing this site when I came across this gem đź’Ž

I just knew it would be an excrement to remember.

No need for old newspaper bags with this one, so count your stars, because you'd need several to clean this wet mess up ✌

Beautifully crafted so you'd almost think it's a snake. But no, it was built to look just like yesterday's Dog Chow, and definitely not as smelly as you find out on your perfectly manicured lawn by someone that feels it unnecessary to carry an old shopping bag to clean up after their beloved ball of fur with a face.

So thank you to all who give the privilege of cleaning up after a pet that's not theirs 🙏

We would never otherwise have this monument to be proud to stick our faces in front of for pictures 🤪

You can easily walk up to this, but look closely as it's a smaller size and it's behind cars parked on the street. It's right at the corner of an intersection off the sidewalk.

St. Stanislaus Kostka is a beautiful classical Roman Catholic Church interior with a massive alter. The icons and liturgical decorations are very Eastern European in style; understandable since this church still has Sunday services in Polish. A good place to visit; particularly if your family is holding a wedding service in this Chuch.

Beautiful stain glass windows inside. A lot of bold colors and nice ceiling vaults and arches. Very impressive.

This Cathedral's name is ACTUALLY "Saint VOLODYMYR Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral" in Chicago Illinois.

The corner stone is a historical timestamp of the era when the stone was added. As it is Not original to the structure nor the congregation. It isva leftover from an era in the history of this parish, the immigrants whose names were typically Russified even in America, not just in Ukraine.

"VOLODYMYR" is the correct transliteration from Ukrainian, just as "Wolodymyr" is from Polish, and as PREVIOUS spelling "Vladimir" is from Russian, and was used originally due to multiple reasons of that era.

The original congregation which purchased this property from its first owner, comprised of Ukrainian Kozak (aka Kazak) immigrants and their families, and dates back to January of 1915, when the parish was known as Holy Trinity and was located at 1944 W Erie Street in Chicago, Illinois.

(would have given 5 stars, if not for the arrogant choir director and his adult children)

This is a beautiful church that I wish the walls could talk. I am sure there are so many stories that they could tell. The paintings on the ceilings and walls were old world and resembled those found in other cathedrals the world over. The bathrooms were in a state of disrepair however, don't let that keep you from visiting this piece of history in old Chicago.
