Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Docent was totally knowledgeable, gave us lots of great information about not only the architecture itself - wonderful Louis Sullivan architecture that shows a lot of empathy for the culture that would inhabit the church, but also about the style that this congregation worships in. A hidden treasure in Chicago in the wonderful neighborhood of Ukrainian Village.

Beautiful stain glass windows inside. A lot of bold colors and nice ceiling vaults and arches. Very impressive.

This Cathedral's name is ACTUALLY "Saint VOLODYMYR Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral" in Chicago Illinois.

The corner stone is a historical timestamp of the era when the stone was added. As it is Not original to the structure nor the congregation. It isva leftover from an era in the history of this parish, the immigrants whose names were typically Russified even in America, not just in Ukraine.

"VOLODYMYR" is the correct transliteration from Ukrainian, just as "Wolodymyr" is from Polish, and as PREVIOUS spelling "Vladimir" is from Russian, and was used originally due to multiple reasons of that era.

The original congregation which purchased this property from its first owner, comprised of Ukrainian Kozak (aka Kazak) immigrants and their families, and dates back to January of 1915, when the parish was known as Holy Trinity and was located at 1944 W Erie Street in Chicago, Illinois.

(would have given 5 stars, if not for the arrogant choir director and his adult children)
