If you happen to visit the area of South Pond, there's a small pedestrian bridge over the narrower part of the pond; the bridge is in fact a quick pass and connection between the west border of Lincoln Park Zoo at N Stockton Drive (Farm Gate) and the east, where various zoo grounds, the parking lot, and bus drop off are located.
From the bridge the views of the Chicago Skyline are very attractive, as well as the scenic views of Nature Boardwalk around South Pond.
Fairly recently the bridge over South Pond was named to honor Dr. Lester E. Fisher (1921 -- 2021), who had been The Director of Lincoln Park Zoo for 30 years, and had also organized and led the Center for the Study and Conservation of Apes at Lincoln Park Zoo.
The small bridge over South Pond is now shown on the map of Nature Boardwalk, and the name of Dr. Lester E. Fisher is there.
Our visit to this part of Lincoln Park was not too long, I only took a couple of photos with distant views of the bridge.
Later I learnt the history and the facts from the long life and dedicated work of a prominent zoologist Lester E. Fisher.
I plan to revisit the site, when we are in the area again.
