Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Goose Island Beer company is a brewery to spend and great place to have beer. Although we did not take the tour, they have excellent selection of beer and a good place to spend with a large group of friends to have a solo time.

The best brewery tour I’ve done anywhere in the world. Great employees that are passionate about the product really make it interesting and in such a chilled atmosphere.

If you love beer and love Chicago..this is a must visit and tour to go on. The tour was excellent and so were all the types of beers we tried. The place and the tour took us through every aspect of how they make the beer and we got numerous samples. A great date night.

Begyle was super chill and cool!! Enjoyed the whole setup next to the train tracks and American flags flying in the background for Veteran’s Day. Shout out to the Veterans!🇺🇸🇺🇸 I loved the beers!! Batch 663 (English Style Barrel Aged Barleywine Ale) was EXCELLENT!! The Imperial Pajamas (Bourbon Barrel aged imperial stout) was AWESOME!! You need reservations to sit down at a picnic tables. I did see some people coming and going to walking up to the window to get carry out beers and ciders! Bought a to go cider which was great and easy drinking and a Christmas Ale 4 pack(Spiced /Herbed Beer) which was delicious and just in time for the holidays! 🎄They do not serve food. It is BYOF(Bring Your Own Food). I had a great time!

I enjoyed sitting at the bar and drinking the 6 year old rye. Too bad they were out of the other ryes. I like the environment, service, and no rush atmosphere.

Off Color was recommended to us by a local while visiting another brewery in Chicago and I'm so glad we made time to visit.

The taproom is welcoming and large, staff super friendly and helpful. Bring your own food system.

What stood out the most is the uniqueness of the beer. I've been to way too many breweries to count across North America, and I haven't experienced many of the inventive combinations that Off Color has come up with. Stand out was "Beer for Beaches" - just an awesome crushable summer beer that's full of unique flavours and perfect for a hot day. If you're in Chicago and a craft beer drinker, this is a must visit.

Coolest brewery in Chicago. The owner Mark was solid. He's a huge music & beer lover so opens up this music themed brewery. Such a cool space. Told me how covid hit soon after opening, but he made it through. Thank you for a great afternoon. Nice meeting you Mark!

Haymarket is a pub on W. Randolph Street that we recently stopped by while waiting for our table at Au Cheval across the street to become available. They have a good sized indoor seating area as well as a few tables near the bar. Several tellies behind the bar showing sports games.

Drink list includes a good selection of handcraft beers. We enjoyed a porter and blond that both pretty good, easy to enjoy while watching a bit of baseball and basketball on the evening. Would be happy to pop back in for another round if in the area if in the area again.

Visiting during a brewery tour of Chicago. The owner showed us around the facility and shared with us the history of the brewery and information on the operations and brewing process.

It's a small place and if I wasn't with a tour group I'm not sure I would have found it (the owner did mention they're moving to a more visible location soon). The beers we sampled were great and I love that they collab with businesses in the city. The most interesting beers were the barrel-aged, very unique, and like nothing else, I've tried in my travels.

We liked the beers so much we bought a 4 pack to bring with us on the rest of the tour!

We recently moved into the area, and this was one of the locations we were excited that was part of the neighborhood. It is a huge space that expanded with even more outdoor space for entertaining. It is real casual environment both inside/outside - they used to even have board games available for the guest to play. They allow children and animals; it makes it a great place to invite all you friends. The outdoor space makes it great in the summer for folks to hang out. I really wish Chicago had more options similar to this. Additionally, the food is served by Lillie q's which is delicious BBQ and they have a great spicy, fried chicken sandwich.

This was our first visit to Moody Tongue and we were very impressed. Part of the appeal was that they offer a beer pairing in which beer is paired with many very complex and subtle dishes. We are used to wine pairings but a beer pairing was worth a try. The dining room has a dark, more utilitarian ambiance which suits the theme of the restaurant. One thing that worried me was that neither my wife nor I like very hoppy beers and those are currently the rage. I figured we'd be giving the beer steward a tough job but it turned out that no one of the beers was hoppy. They were sour or fruity etc. and we were really impressed by how well they paired with the food and how well we liked all of them. All of the courses were delicious, complex, and quite different from all of the others. There is true artistry going on here! The only issue we had is that sometimes the next course of both food and wine would come before we had finished the beer we had for the previous course(s). The server(s) should communicate with the kitchen a bit more in case customers are slower to finish a particular glass. There is also a sizable amount of beer consumed with the tasting! I wouldn't recommend having any other drinks shortly before the dinner.

Fun neighborhood place. A few blocks south of the museum campus on Michigan Ave. On a Saturday late afternoon, it was pleasantly busy (and somewhat less pleasantly noisy). They had about 6 beers on tap, about half of which seemed like they were from other local breweries. I had two pints, both of which were good. Prices were a little steep. Service was a little slow and bland being as it seemed there was only one guy tending the bar at a fairly busy time. It looks like they are kid and dog friendly. Worth a stop if you're a craft beer afficianado visiting the area.
