- Pat D1 contributionGreat open space for our large group. David and Abbey ran the bar and food service like pros. - David E JMinneapolis, MN558 contributionsBeautiful beach. Very family-friendly. No lifeguards - a drawback but I'm sure it's a staffing issue. Plenty of parking.Written 9 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- voyageurdumonde64Biarritz, France102 contributionsA great way to get out of the summer sun with family and see new or old movies. Right in the center of town. Great location.Written 17 July 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- Carol E1 contributionThe trail head is fairly high above the water, giving a great view east across Lake Pend Oreille, but soon it turns south giving an entirely different, but excellent, view. It's a rocky trail, but not difficult. It ends at Greene Bay, which is a wide, rocky beach, and because of its relative remoteness, not over populated. It works best if one person drives the vehicleFab to Greene Bay to pick up the hikers.Written 31 December 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Rainier72Lynnwood, WA746 contributionsHighway 200 in Idaho is a great scenic byway. Most of it passes by the north end of Lake Pend Oreille before getting to the Clark Fork River Valley. Lots of scenic pullouts and parks to stop at. There are a few small towns to get through before getting to the Montana state line. Sam Owen campground and Cabinet Gorge are 2 of the best places to stop along the way. This is the first time I had been in this part of Northern Idaho and am glad I went. It is a very beautiful stretch of road.Written 21 July 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Brittany_11_10Los Angeles, CA1,712 contributionsProbably the best thing about McKinnick Trail is its proximity to town, as in, it's basically in town. The second best thing is that, as others have said, you can get a nice view overlooking town within the first mile or so.
We didn't think it was "very steep" or "challenging," etc., but I suppose it's a bit uphill ;) (At least on the way, ahem, up).
The trail was well-maintained and easy to follow, and there was a decent-sized parking lot at the trail head.Written 9 September 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It is a two-mile long pedestrian bridge which parallels the highway (it’s the old road bed) across the Pend Oreille River. This is used by walkers and bicyclists and other non-motorized vehicles. The trail provides access from Sandpoint to Sagle. Users can enjoy expansive views of the water and wooded hillsides. Since I didn’t have time for the entire two-mile walk, I did the Underpass Turnaround. This begins at the large sign at the south end of the bridge, goes down, makes a U-Turn under the bridge, and comes back up on the other side of US 95. A short easy walk with beautiful views of the river and the bridge piers, and away from traffic, which I enjoyed very much. Finding a safe place to park was the only challenge.Written 11 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Susan HTacoma, WA2,617 contributionsThere are a number of fun shops here and an area designed for kids to explore and create, which seems to have been included based on donations. We went on a Tuesday and unfortunately about 1/3 of the shops were closed including the candy store and olive oil shop. Still enjoyed our time and loved the picked foods store upstairs. They even have samples. Also nice clean restrooms on the second floor as well.Written 31 August 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
