We had a fabulous time at Discovery Cove!  We purchased the dolphin swim + two parks tix, the ultimate animal experience, and the premier photo package.  I waited for sales before purchasing any tix.  You have 14 days to use your tickets for other parks. We went to Sea World one day and DC the next.

We checked in at 7am and met our guide (Jocelyn) for the day at 7:15. We (two of us) were paired with a family of four for our ultimate animal experience. Once everyone was checked in, we headed to breakfast (we didn’t know if we would have time to eat breakfast so we ate beforehand, would be cool if DC posted an example agenda for this experience. As we walked to breakfast we were impressed with how clean and nice everything is after being open since 2000!

Our ultimate animal experience went like this:

    ·         Breakfast – buffet style and plenty of tables.  Jocelyn gave everyone time to finish their breakfast and gave us a chance to chit chat with her.

    ·         Wetsuits - after breakfast we went to get our wetsuits. The guy at the wetsuit hut was great! Got us in the right size the first time!  He doesn’t ask, he just looks at you and gets the right size.  After we wiggled into our wetsuits and put our stuff in lockers we headed to the grand reef.

    ·         Grand Reef - we didn’t snorkel we just had a short one on one with a DC person in a closed off area of the reef.  She talked to us about a few of the animals in there with her. This was the strangest part of the experience. Not sure if we were wasting time or what?  We didn’t ever get the “exclusive, private, guided snorkel session in the Grand Reef prior to park opening” that is listed on the website.  I wasn’t upset about this because it was chilly that morning and I wasn’t sure I was ready to be in the water.

    ·         Flamingos - stopped and checked out the flamingos on the way to the otter area. They are neat to see so close.

    ·         Otters - the other group of ultimate animal experience folks joined us for this. They lead you into the area and rope it off so others can’t come in. They let the otters into their enclosure for the day and you get to watch and ask questions.  Cute little things.

    ·         Monkeys – you can swim or walk (we chose to swim). It was chilly the morning we were there, but we were able to see two monkeys. A DC person talked about them and answered questions.

    ·         Aviary – the aviary is cool if you like birds. You get a little cup of food and walk around and feed the birds.  They are very friendly but there were a few intimidating looking ones.

    ·         Special meet-and-greets – I was hoping to have one on one with an armadillo, but we got an anteater, but she was cool.  Neat to see one up close and to pet her.  We also got a meet and greet with a little owl (no touching him).  They talk to you about both animals and answer questions.  Jocelyn knew I wanted to see an armadillo so as we were walking from one excursion to another, she saw one (out at the animal experiences they have around DC through the day) and took us over to check him out.

    ·         Behind the scenes – we got to see (and smell) where the dolphin food is prepared and to learn a about their care and feeding. We saw a board with all the dolphins listed with their age and weight. This was cool as there are some old and some big dolphins there.

    ·         Dolphin swim – this was way cooler than I expected! Two other guests joined us for this (so a total of 8 of us for this interaction).  Rose was our dolphin (she was around 500lbs, one of the biggest females they have there) and Jocelyn was also our dolphin liaison.  Your dolphin comes over to your groups area of the dolphin lagoon and Jocelyn talked a bit about dolphins.  Rose did some tricks for the group and then each person gets to hold on to her and she takes you for a short ride.  So much fun and she is so gentle.  There are other groups in the lagoon doing the same with other dolphins.  After this interaction everyone gets out of the lagoon.

    ·         Enhanced second dolphin swim – after everyone clears out from the regular dolphin interaction, they ask the ultimate animal experience folks to come back in (so we were back to our original group of 6).  This time we got to interact and get pictures with two dolphins. You also get to take another ride but this time the dolphin is on its back. Both dolphin experiences were so much fun. No, you don’t get a lot of time out there with them, but you also have to keep in mind the dolphins attention span and their willingness to do this interaction. They switch out the dolphins all day and the trainers know them so well they can tell when the dolphin isn’t in the mood, and they don’t ask them to do an interaction with guests.  This concluded our ultimate animal experience.

    ·         Notes – you can stop and use the restroom or grab a drink at almost any time during this 5-hour experience. Ask questions! We asked so many questions I thought Jocelyn would tire of us, but she didn’t. Jocelyn was great and did such an awesome job for our animal experience!

After we were released to be on our own, we had lunch. All the food is served buffet style so eat as little or as much as you want.  We both enjoyed the food and had no issues with any of it.  After lunch we did the wind away river. Even if you swim well, I suggest you get one of the provided floats as the water goes from shallow to 8 feet and it takes time to go around the whole thing.  And yes, the waterfall is harsh but it’s to prevent the birds from flying out of the aviary.

Next, we got snorkels and explored the Grand Reef. It was a bit crowded but still plenty of room to maneuver. You have to wear life vests but there are some very deep areas in the grand reef so it’s probably for the best.   You are swimming with tropical fish and some HUGE rays. Some that weigh 300lbs! They were scary at first, but they just glide around and are super cool to swim with! We really enjoyed the grand reef!

It looked like it might rain so we decided to change out of our wetsuits and do some other things. They have showers with body wash, shampoo, and conditioner for guest use.  We decided to go choose our photos for our photo package so that would be out of the way.  Then we went to this cute little bar that has stools and swings (at the bar). It’s next to the pizza area.  Beer and wine are included in the price. We purchased pina coladas. I don’t recall the price being outrageous (we didn’t buy the drink package).  We tried the pizza while we sipped on our pina coladas, and it was not bad.

Our suggestions for people going to DC: buy tickets when they are on sale (they have a lot of sales thru the year), take water shoes, take waterproof phone cases (we bought two for $10 on amazon and the same ones were $30 each at DC), get wetsuits if the temps are chilly (this is probably the only way we were able to enjoy all the water parts as it was a chilly day), and buy the photo package (wait for a sale).  I wasn’t sure at first, but you really don’t want to spend your entire day trying to take pictures and you aren’t allowed to take your own pictures at the dolphin swim. We got so many awesome pics to commemorate our experience from the DC photographer. We were very glad we spent the extra money to get photos of our experience.  The premier package includes pictures during the small mammal meet and greet and both dolphin swims. At the very least get the digital picture package!

The DC guest relations folks that answer emails are awesome! They respond within 24 hours and I had a lot of questions ahead of time!

Make sure you ask DC trainers and everyone questions! Did you know that dolphins have belly buttons?? We saw them!  We will definitely go again!

I personally been going here since I was young but first time with my kids and husband. The prices for fast passes I think are outrages but we got them anyways. Overall we had a great time and the kids loved it. We didn’t get to do every ride either due to crazy 250 min wait time on the one ride you can’t use fast pass on or they were too little. Also food prices are insane but what park doesn’t do that so that’s expected. Overall would come again once we win the lotto or we get someone’s inheritance. lol

We had 2 great days there. The only down side was buying a fast pass for the 2nd day and discovering some of the best rides were excluded. Loved the Harry Potter parts. Even in January the queues were very long.

With exact recreations of Hogsmesde and Diagon Alley, exciting coasters like the wonderful Hagrid's Motorcycle Adventure or two of the greatest, most incredible 4D experiences you could ever want to experience, and even good theme park cuisine in equally fantastical settings, there's a ton of diversity as well. To appreciate the imagination, craftsmanship, and nearly unfathomable attention to detail that went into creating this beautiful universe, you don't even need to be a fan of the books or the films. The pinnacle of theme park perfection is this.

We visited Disney Springs on the weekend before Christmas. Even with the holiday crowd, it was still a fun visit.

We expected crowds so we came early at around 10:30 a.m. Parking in the Lime or Orange garages can be a nightmare so we parked in the Strawberry open parking lot - we parked up front (lots of parking spots) and it was a quick walk through security. By the time we left at around 4 p.m., the signs said that the Lime and Orange garages were full and many cars were cruising the Strawberry lot for parking.

Disney Springs was hosting its traditional Christmas Tree Stroll. We picked up the tree map at City Works Eatery & Pour House that is located near the Strawberry lot entrance (other four locations include the LEGO Store and Joffrey Coffee). Do the tree stroll for fun and not for the cheap Christmas ornament prize. There are around a dozen Christmas trees located throughout Disney Springs, each with a theme such as Lion King and Star Wars.

Disney Springs was nicely decorated for the holidays. We were told that holiday decorations should be still up for at least a week after New Year's Day.

During peak holiday periods, it is best to make restaurant reservations for lunch as well as dinner. That morning, it was easy to make a reservation (Disney website) for lunch at Morimoto Asia (all time slots were open except dinner hours). By the time we left at around 1 p.m., there was a line - we overheard the host saying it was a least a 1/2 hour wait. Most restaurants did not appear to have lunch hour lines but we saw long lines at a few places like Rainforest Cafe, Raglan Road Irish Pub & Restaurant and Chicken Guy.

We visited some stores that of course, were crowded with holiday shoppers. The LEGO Store had a line wrapped around the store! We shopped at the Marketplace Co-op that has some unique Disney-themed houseware and clothing and skipped the popular (and very crowded) World of Disney mega store.

    Happy Holidays!

We had a family group with young adults and 4 young kids. We all loved the animal shows (dolphins, orcas, sea lions/otters) and exhibits (penguins).
Then the littles hung out at Sesame Street (who doesn't love carousels) and the more adventurous hit bigger rides.
A bit chilly. But no lines!!
(PS if you sold hot drinks on the cold days, we would buy some!)
Fabulous and memorable. On our must do n list again for next time.

This is the nearest that Disney gets to nature in this park with a ride through a “safari” park and treks/walks through zoo-like settings. There are also some aviaries that you can walk through and attempt bird-spotting. The nature parts are quite well done and there are “park rangers” around to answer questions.
The main ride here is Avatar- a superb ride through a mythical land. Everest is a close second - a roller-coaster. There is also a bird show - well-worth watching and a Lion King based show/musical.
Despite it being the week before Christmas, it didn’t feel too packed.
    Overall, an enjoyable day.

Epcot has always been a park that mixes fun with innovation, but with the addition of the Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, it’s on a whole new level. If you haven’t been to Epcot recently, now is the perfect time to rediscover it.

Let’s start with the star of the show: Cosmic Rewind. This ride is absolutely mind-blowing! It’s a rollercoaster, but not like anything I’ve ever experienced before. The way the cars rotate during the ride makes you feel like you’re flying through space alongside the Guardians. Plus, the music! The soundtrack changes each time you ride, and the energy it brings is off the charts. It’s pure adrenaline and fun, and honestly, I couldn’t stop laughing and cheering the whole time.

Beyond the ride, Epcot continues to shine with its unique mix of attractions, food, and culture. The World Showcase is still one of my favorite places to walk around, with amazing food and drinks from around the world (I highly recommend stopping in Mexico or France). And the futuristic vibe of Spaceship Earth and the new attractions at World Discovery make the park feel fresh and exciting.

Epcot has always been a park for those who love to explore and learn, but with Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, it’s now also a place for thrill-seekers. It’s the perfect mix of innovation, fun, and adventure.

If you’re planning a trip, make sure to prioritize a ride on Cosmic Rewind – it’s an absolute game-changer and worth every minute of the wait. Epcot just keeps getting better and better, and I can’t wait to go back!

We spent a day here in January. While riding the Thrasher go karts, a few of the karts would randomly turn off. Ferlando was running the ride and did a great job restarting any karts and getting the race going again. The track is a lot for one person to manage, especially when there are issues with the karts, and Ferlando did a phenomenal job keeping it going. Everyone enjoyed the day.

Such a great place to go shopping if you need a break from all of the surrounding theme parks. It can be quite crowded at some time during the day but you just need to take that for granted and go through it. Lots of big brands that have big stores and basically all the shops are having big sales. 🙃

During a recent trip to Florida, this was one of our favorite days. We anticipated considerable people because it was the Sunday of President's Day Weekend and it was rather warm. Not even close. With the possible exception of a two-minute wait for the crush'n gusher, we rode every slide. Even their "drop slide" isn't as thrilling as those at "big water parks," and there's a decent selection of slides for the younger crowd. Although some of the benefits were not there, the lazy river is pleasant, lengthy, and soothing. Everything else appeared to be in decent condition, though, and the meal was pleasantly delicious.
