Had a stop at an island for short break wander around collect shells. Captain Kevin was amazing, explaining fun facts about the area, getting dolphins to follow us, pointing out birds, and showing us where to find sand dollars on the private island. The first mate was also awesome, teaching us about various shells and looking out for dolphins for us. It was a truly awesome experience!! - Kristen EPittsburgh, PA3 contributionsYou could rent kayaks to paddle yourself around the coast of Florida, but it's so much better to have an experienced, knowledgeable biologist and kayaker guide you. We learned about the flora and fauna in and around this body of water, some history and economics, and also had a good time in the sunshine. Even though Rising Tide loaned us a waterproof bag and nobody fell out of their kayak, we left our cellphones in the car, so I'm glad they took photos for us. Should have re-applied sunscreen while we were out there--oops!
