Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

- milliegordon2Southbury, CT636 contributionsA vast collection of dinosaur, minerals and artifacts awaits you at this museum. The experience was terrific. Parking was free, dinosaur "tracks" led us to the front door and admission is free. The museum is a bit overwhelming with all that it has to offer. We went on a Tuesday so it wasn't mobbed with kids, only "stroller screamers."Written 9 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - GoAlong2Seattle, WA893 contributionsWe went to the park expecting to drive to the viewpoint however we found that the road is closed to cars during the winter. So we walked the road about 20 minutes to the top up gentle curves. The views of the city and the water are very good. At the top is a memorial to soldiers and sailors from the area who died in various wars. It was a chilly day, but a nice walk.Written 9 February 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- ReviewGuyNoVINovi, MI2,405 contributionsThe park is a gem of a location and very close to the highway and only minutes from New Haven. We were in town for an event at Yale Uni and decided to come here. Upon pulling into the park entrance there are signs asking for $25 cash only payment for parking and entrance. CT residents pay less...
The park has some sandy beach areas but most is rocky with shallow water. Water was fairly cold for a 95 degree day in CT summer. I was not prepared for swimming but did go into to check out the water temp.
There is a canteen to buy snacks, lunch, and drinks at a higher than expected price. Best if you bring your own picnic and food so you can enjoy all day with your own chairs/canopy.
Lighthouse has great potential for photographers and wedding are happening here’s every weekend. I recommend bringing lots of water and food and staying at least for few hours!Written 25 July 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Adventure DivaManchester, CT2,727 contributionsLocated in the Long Wharf area of New Haven, this station is the most used in Connecticut. Serves rail transfers to Amtrak, Metro North Railroad, Shoreline East and the Connecticut Rail Hartford Line. Commonly known as the "New Haven", this station is my go-to place when needing a cultural fix to New York City. Metro North does offer discount tickets but you'll have to ask. Service is friendly and efficient.Written 23 January 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Theresa P31 contributionsI wanted to see a beach on our 2 day visit to New Haven and this fit the bill. The lighthouse itself is not that impressive, but the beach was really pleasant and we spent an hour, shelling there - very peaceful.Written 20 May 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
