We were in town for an event at Yale Uni and decided to come here. Upon pulling into the park entrance there are signs asking for $25 cash only payment for parking and entrance. CT residents pay less...
The park has some sandy beach areas but most is rocky with shallow water. Water was fairly cold for a 95 degree day in CT summer. I was not prepared for swimming but did go into to check out the water temp.
There is a canteen to buy snacks, lunch, and drinks at a higher than expected price. Best if you bring your own picnic and food so you can enjoy all day with your own chairs/canopy.
Lighthouse has great potential for photographers and wedding are happening here’s every weekend. We were there when school was most likely finished since we didn't see too many college students. I wish they would add some more tables because you have to steal someone's chair when they get up in order to get a chair.
