Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I have not used a bike for around 5 years and was not sure if I could survive a long or hilly route. Daniel reassured me that the route was on the more or less level perimeter road around the island, and that the overall circuit was around 10 miles, which sounded just about right for me.
The trip was excellent ! We cycled in a group of 7 plus our guides, the Jack cousins, at a sensible pace (not too slow, not too fast) round on the quiet island road in an anti-clockwise direction starting at Millport, following most of the shoreline, so the sea views were excellent. There was very little motor traffic at any time, and more or less none at all once we passed the ferry slipway . One of the boys cycled in front, one behind the group. It was all safe without being obessively so nor restrictive. They responded well to the make-up of the group.
We stopped at intervals, not too close, not too far apart, and listened to the boys as they told us about the sites, and the history, and about the views across to other islands and the mainland. The views were beautiful, and we were blessed with a warm, calm, bright day
In between times, we had walkie talkies on our handle bars via which they gave us some additional information as we cycled round.
They achieved a good balance of quietness and talk, and were very happy when guests shared their own local or historical knowledge .
I was very happy with my big bike ( I had warned them that I needed a strong one!), and the bike issuing process at the shop . It was cheaper hiring the tour bike than it would have if we had hired and biked on our own.
We would have also missed out on their local knowledge, good humour and the very pleasant shared group experience.
I would certainly recommend this tour, and applaud the Jacks -Daniel and Adam --in their customer care before , during and indeed after the trip. The price also was very reasonable for a superb experience that was one of the best things we have done on our 10 day Scottish holiday !
We would do the trip again if we return to this lovely little island !Written 31 August 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. I have used it many times and discovered places I didn't even know existed, even as a local!
There is several routes available including Cumbrae, Arran, Ayrshire, Inverclyde and Bute, its well worth downloading!Written 15 March 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
