Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- Roadside_b12 contributionsWent with the family, two small children ages 3.5 and 1.5. It was perfect for us. There are two beaches that small children can wade in and two short hiking trails. The discovery trail would have been too much for us, but the ridge trail wasn’t too long so we could carry the kids. The sites are all pretty good. We were on site 158 which backed on to a steep drop so we just set some logs and rope up as a barrier that the kids were instructed not to go past. Lots of sites back right on to the lake so if you are travelling with young kids I highly recommend bringing rope to Jerry-rig a fence.
At the ranger station, they have all kinds of kits you can sign out for free for the kids. There’s a discovery kit (activity book, large bucket and net), a night sky kit (constellation map and headlamp), an art kit (pipe cleaner, beads, Pom poms and water colour paint set), and you can borrow fishing rods and tackle box. You can rent canoes, paddle boards and kayaks. The rental is $30 for 2 hours or $50 for 24 hours. We stayed 4 nights and did something a little different each day. Oh and the playground beside the day beach is perfect for little kids plus it overlooks the lake which is great for parents.
The comfort station was very clean. The vaulted toilets weren’t terrible either. Any time I used a bathroom there was always toilet paper, and either hand sanitizer or soap. So it was well maintained.
Now for the downside. The traffic from the highway really is quite noisy for some of the sites by the entrance. Noisier than you’d imagine. But those sites are closer to the nice comfort station so they were all booked out. The further you get from
The road, the further you are from the nice bathroom. So it’s a balance. We are from the city so we don’t mind the sound of the traffic. We don’t need to feel that we are somewhere “unspoiled” since we are with 2 kids and their needs are so straightforward. But if you are looking for a complete escape from any trace of the scourges of society, you might want to avoid.Written 30 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. This is a perfectly situated small park, with a soft sand beach and shallow swimming area, in the quiet hamlet of Sharbot Lake, Ontario. There is a great coffee shop nearby ("Cadinal Cafe") and an excellent restaurant ("Belong") should you be staying nearby or there around lunch or dinner.
Well worth a visit if you're anywhere near this area.Written 3 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews. - astewart7Kingston, Canada7 contributionsNot very long or challenging in any way.
Good for a nice walk.....a body of water at the end for swimming.
Do be careful if walking dogs there....we encountered a gentleman who decided to vandalize the car stating his hatred of dogs (ours were on leash, quiet and we picked up after them)Written 2 April 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
