Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We had a great trip with our guide Henry, who drove very safe and had a lot of knowledge about the desert. He answered all the questions that we had. Very nice trip!

We had a great time with Andes Salt Expeditions (ASE) and our guide Juan! The Salt Flats are truly otherworldly and ASE knows how to show you around. We did the 2 day/1 night tour with an English speaking guide. We did a lot more on our tour than we were anticipating! Our itinerary was:

    Day 1
    Train graveyard
    Lunch at a salt hotel
    Perspective photos
    Hiking on Cactus Island
    Watch sunset/reflection photos
Check in to our Salt Hotel and dinner

    Day 2
Up at 5 am to take star photos an watch sunrise
    Breakfast back at Salt Hotel
    Tour of a calcium mine
    Lunch in Coqueza
Hike up a to view a volcano (3 miles RT, 1263 ft elevation, 14,309 ft max elevation)
Drive back (2 hours) to Uyuni

Definitely recommend ASE for a visit to Uyuni and the Salt Flats.

A great trip with a great guide Marcia, Incahuasi Island was extraordinary along with the salt flats, flamingoes, geysers, smoking volcano, coloured lagoons, lava formations and even llama sausages. Marcia was really helpful with border formalities for crossing into Chile as well as arranging a return journey a week later. Highly recommended.

We have been on a time crunch and had only two days. The Joker team made it possible for us and tailored the tour for us to see the Salt Flats, Lake Colorada and even spend an adventurous night in the dessert. Álvaro, our guide, was extremely knowledgeable about all the animals, landscape and stories that made this area so special.Ariel, our driver, was excellent in finding a save way through the salt flats and dessert and made sure everything was set up very well (e.g. lunch,…). The company reached out in advance to capture all of our wishes and made it a perfect experience. Thank you Joker team, we will recommend you to everyone without any hesitation.

We were two people and had booked a private Salar de Uyuni Tour for two nights, three days.
We had a driver (Marcos) and a guide (Oswaldo) who were awesome. Perfect organization, good english, many information, great photos, awesome trip! They drove very safely and shared a lot more information about Bolivia than just about the Salar/ sites we visited.
We would definitely do it again with this company and are taking home uncountable unbelievable impressions of this wonderful piece of the world.
It felt very comfortable to travel and talk to them.
    Thank you Oswaldo and Marcos!

The tour was great. Carlos was our guide, funny and full of knowledge, and made sure we were well taken care of. The drivers were awesome too - we were 2 Land Cruisers touring together. I loved that it was all English speakers on the tour since my Spanish is not good. The food was delicious and abundant. The salt flats were great, esp. at sunset. The lagunas on the 2nd day were amazing and all different. We saw so much wildlife! It was a lot of driving on the 2nd and 3rd days but totally worth it! Loved the geysers and the hot springs soaking. I'd definitely recommend this tour with Red Planet Expeditions! Thanks for the great photos and memories.

Our guide Rene was fantastic, he was so enthusiastic and knowledgeable, and knew all the good spots to take photos! The drivers were very professional and helpful and the vehicles seemed to be well kept and in good condition for the environment they were in.

Fantastic full day tour organised by Banjo Tours. Our guide, Nadia Ponce Inturias, picked us up off our flight from La Paz and with the help of Zenon, our driver, dropped us off for the fabulous Todo Tourismo overnight bus back to La Paz. Nadia possessed an excellent command of English and was extremely knowledgeable regarding the geological history that formed the flats, the wildlife and vegetation. A red wine and cold meat surprise over sunset on the flats capped a memorable day. Thanks Nadia, Zenon, and Yanet in the Banjo Office for providing us with one of our best ever tourist experiences!!

We did a 3 day private Tour with our amazing guide Eddy from the Chilean Border to the Salar de Uyuni.

You notice right away that they have done theese tours for a long time because it was super well organized. We had a spacious 4w4 car and started at the bolovian side of the border, saw unbeliebably beautiful landscapes and took hundreds of spectacular photos. It really is one of the most beautiful landscapes we have ever seen, and we have travelled a lot before!

The first day is spent in a very remote region, you can see Geysirs and lots of Wildlife (Vicuñas, Flamingos).
The hotel of the first night is located at 4500m, in europe you would only expect a basic hut in the mountains but here we were served a 3 course dinner! I did get altidude sickness which resolved the next day when we descended do 3500 m.
Some reviews stated that the hotel (Tayka del desierto) gets really could but that was definitely not the case at our stay, we felt cozy and warm during the night!
The highlight was the Salar the Uyuni where Eddy took absolutely spectacular fotos of us. We saw them covered in Water which produced an otherworldly giant mirror effect. When we booked our flights we were unsure wether it would be a good idea to see the Salar in the rainy season, but to br honest we think it looks even better covered in Water (We saw dry salt flats in argentina for comparison).

This was definitely one of the most special Places we ever saw, the memories of how beautiful Bolivia can be will stay with us!

We absolutely loved the salt flats tour! The scenery was incredible the whole way. Our driver Saul really made our experience more enjoyable. He was patient, knowledgeable, a safe driver, great English, and timed our route perfectly to avoid crowds. He’s also an excellent photographer and always made sure he took the time to get us great pictures. I recommend this tour and this company and definitely Saul.
