The lawns are perfectly manicured and there's steps and slopes to allow access to a wide variety of nooks and crannies where benches are plentiful and views spectacular.
Beautiful gardens very attractively designed - each garden different, the higher ones with lovely view of the beach - well worth a visit.

Very busy but worth the visit you can view the port working and sea the huge container ships being loaded and unloaded great little cafe museum and landguard fort fantastic spot for sunset pictures
The scenery is fantastic with spectacular views of the Estuary There is an information centre with some interesting information and a cafe serving excellent food with an outside viewing area .

Thanks to the very helpful volunteer who gave a great introduction to the site before ascending the stairs to the top and the great views over the surrounding area At only £1 entry what can you complain about :)
When at the top there are binoculars for your use and the view is great.

The tower is a real gem! 111 spiral steps to the roof for amazing views of the Essex Coastline, 6+ floors with a changing art display and permanent museum and a ground floor café serving very delicious looking cakes!
Excellent coffee, delicious pastries, friendly and efficient staff, beautiful location and historic site.

This has now been updated and is lovely,staff are friendly and helpful, arcades are good, decking all around so you can sit outside looking out at the views with a nice ice cream.
From here you can get a lovely view of the beach and the North Sea.
