Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Interesting to hear the story of the storyteller and his few years in Samoa in this fabulous house and gardens, there limited original pieces of furniture but it has been well recreated and you guide will talk through plenty.

To get an insight into the local culture, this is a highly recommend activity; check with the Tourist Authority office for starting times which can be a bit variable day-to-day. The presentation includes local music, a welcoming Ava Ceremony, and an opportunity to be involved in palm frond weaving. There are a variety of local presentations including traditional tatau display, wood carving, umu cooking, traditional massage, and there is a local craft store (not all of these options are available all days as it depends on the person’s other obligations). Lunch from the umu was included and the show ended off with more music and dancing. Well worth the time (about 2.5 hours) and entry fee (WST20 each).

I have seen this cathedral from afar when sailing into the Apia harbor and it is striking to see. Stopping at the church wasn't part of your excursion, but our tour guide wanted us to see it and we were so glad we did. As fantastic it is to see from afar, it is better up close. And the inside......wow wow wow.
The church was completed in 1857 and since that time it has been been damaged, restored and expanded. If you are ever in Apia make the effort to visit this cathedral.

Definitely try for high tide as there’s not a lot of depth in the water so can be shallow and you can end up hitting & damaging the coral.

Worthwhile to have your own snorkeling gear & be confident swimmer as the best part is quite a way out by the sign in the water.

Good spots to leave your towels, picnic tables & big swings to enjoy from the massive tree cover.

Amazing views and feels like an Amazon swim or something out of a movie! The steps and trek down isn't somewhere I'd take my elderly parents or small/younger kids but in saying that there were a few toddlers when we got there.
My family went down both sides of the sliding rocks and loved it! I think the changing area could do with a bit of an upgrade but the view and swim was splendid.

The roadside viewing point gives you an excellent view across to the waterfall falling some 90m, it is fed from the crater behind

Pure beauty! Stunning, prestein beach. Option for use of fales, showers and Cafe onsite.
Remember to take your rubbish and treat the beach with respect when visiting.
The road to get to the beach could use some work as we came in a van and found it bumpy but worth it for the view and swim! Will be back for sure.

This hidden gem is located just behind the Baha'i Temple in the mountains well above Apia, where the temperatuers are notably cooler than down at sea level. It is at once a functioning art school, workshop, museum and advocate for the arts in the greater Apia area - and quite possibley the best and most healthful food in Samoa.

It is run by owners Steve and Wendy and there are even a few charming cabins avilable via AIR B&B- including an actual 3-bed treehouse!

The Art Centre also host occasional talks and live concerts, often blending the arts with ecological themes and the upliftment of the human spirit.

It is located just off the Cross Island Road and deifnitely worth a stop -or two- while in Samoa.

I recently visited Samoa and Sundays are dedicated to God. Visitors are welcome to attend a service at a local church anywhere across the island. I decided to attend the 10am service at the Baha'i Temple. The service was beautiful and I felt very welcome.

Mainly a gallery of student work -- and wonderful and impressive it is -- and you can watch the sudents at work. Lovely people and very welcoming. We were looking for a :"musum" in the traditonal sense -- a place of history -- but this was a pleasant surprise.
The entrance off the highway is hard to find and the sign misleading -- but worth the extra effort.
