Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

- MyPetRabbitBoston, MA61 contributionsThis is the only 'art gallery' in Yap and one of the only places to buy artwork (the Coop and a couple of stores have T-shirts, and may have other works on occasion). It may not seem like much, but one needs to remember that you are in a remote and little-populated island in the north Pacific where many people still rely on subsistence fishing and farming for most of their food production. That said, there are some talented local artists and many of the pieces, even down to smaller handmade cards, are unique. The Yapese versions of Christmas and other religious scenes are especially beautiful and make wonderful gifts. Everything is inexpensive by U.S. standards and there are a variety of items at each price point. If no one is there when you visit, leave a note and they'll contact you. It's worth a return visit to see the only art gallery for several hundred miles, plus its location just outside tiny Colonia means you will be passing every day anyway.Written 23 March 2015This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Mike VQuezon City, Philippines143 contributionsits actually just a bridge not an attraction... but offers the best view of the bay.... best is to walk around the blue lagoon (about 2km walk)... to better appreciate the bay and it surroundings and peopleWritten 16 November 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - James CFairbanks, AK98 contributionsThis is the Evangelical Church on Lagoon Dr on Yap State (island) Federated States of Micronesia. There is a map related to this that actually shows Kolonia, Phonpei which is a different city and island but also part of Federated States The Services are held Sunday day and evening but you may wish to check in advance where as the church also runs a school at the base of this hill and may hold services there or at another church if the pastor (Ruda) is filling in. Services and hymns are performed in both English and local dialect. The pastors house is directly left of this building but not quite so high up. The church also has a large apartment that is made available for a donation for visiting workers but they do not stress this housing as they do not wish to be seen as competing with local hotels. One demonstration, in my opinion of the sincerity of the pastor's convictions and service in addition to holding services in the outlying villages for person not able to come in.Written 22 June 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
