- Mathan AHarrow, UK69 contributionsAfter careful consideration, I decided to take the plunge and rent a scooter. Only thing is I had never ridden one and needed to build up confidence.
That is why I decided to take a lesson and I am so glad I did. It is only two hours long but in that time, I learnt a lot and it gave me the confidence to navigate Bali's roads.
My instructor, Iqbal, was great. He was very friendly and patient, and have be lots of encouragement. He showed the the basics and his teaching methods allowed me to progress and be confident on the roads straight away. We went on a quiet side street first but eventually went on road.
If you have never driven a scooter before, I highly recommend you take two hours out of your life and learn. This is our 1st department overseas retreat post Covid and Bianca (owner) who is so ever professional provided us with many of her reccomendations and advices on the venue we can conduct the painting etc. We are very glad with her reccomendation and on the painting day everything seems to run seamlessly. Bianca and her team came prepared with the canvas, brushes, paint etc and given that many of us are not painters per say i must say that majority of us truly enjoyed ourselves and surprisngly we found out that many of colleagues hidden talents. MANY CAN PAINT VERY WELL! Even Bianca had a diffcult time choosing the top 3 paintings! :) Thanks Bianca for EVERYTHING and the organising team is very glad that everything went well and we need to really convey our thanks to Bianca for being so accomodating and super prompt in answering to our queries though we are miles away from each other! We would also like to convery our thanks to the venue - Jiwa Community Garden for hosting us and the yummy lunch - nasi campur that we had as well as the very educational gardening tour . composting workshop! But surely worth to try and it was so great, that he will try that soon again. High recommendations and special thanx to the surf teacher; he was really professional and really nice guy. The pool tables in the club are very well maintained and the service is very attentive. I was a little scared at first and he helped me with that fear. He knew where my potential was and pushed me there without me realizing it. I am very grateful to him for that. I felt so comfortable, even with bigger waves. In the water Adam also explained a lot of theory to me. I learned so much during my time with him. He is sensitive, has a sense of humor and is just a kindhearted person. Not only in the water he was there for us, he also gave us tips about canggu and helped us in every situation. He also did a video coaching and this helped me a lot. With Adam and his friends it felt like family and I'm so grateful for the time I've spend with them.
