Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

- DeanaEnumclaw, WA57 contributionsThe hike wasn't as difficult as I expected from other reviews. My husband and I (53 years old) hiked from the carpark to the top and back the same way to the car. It took us 3 hours total but we went slow due to my bad knee and stopped for pictures and spent about 30 minutes at the top. We didn't do the chain at the top because the wind was blowing very hard.Written 26 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - madkat989Brisbane, Australia29 contributionsA great experience! Not to be missed if you want a cool intro to Rarotonga and a ride through the middle of the island. The guys are fabulous and knowledgeable. They'll even pick you up from your accomodation and drop you back!Written 3 December 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - V9009DCchristinecWellington, UK1 contributionThe whole experience was fabulous. We were so impressed with the crew and the atmosphere. It was enjoyable in every way. 100% worth the money. Our children absolutely loved it! We learned a lot too so that was an extra, leaving with a little bit more knowledge of the area, the sea and the fish. The manaakitanga around lunch was incredible. Loved every minute of the day.Written 10 December 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Daydream495181617923 contributionsKoka lagoon experience, operators and local business, take a bow!
You should be incredibly proud of your business and your ability to take people’s holiday to Rarotonga to the next level!!
Our lagoon cruise and experience was a key highlight of our trip! Captain Fly, Papa Jack, Captain Brown Sugar! You were all amazing!!! The price of the cruise was sooo affordable considering everything that comes with the experience, lagoon ride, education, snorkeling experience, beautiful island lunch and the cultural competency show after lunch, next level.
On behalf of our family - Fa’afetai Tele lava. Any one who is deciding which lagoon cruise to go with - KOKA without a shadow of a doubt!

In desperate need of some r&r my friend and I decided to make the trip to Raro for some awesome paddle boarding , yoga and adventuring.
Charlotte took us to so many beautiful places including on a private snorkelling trip where we were able to get up close with some of the islands resident turtles. This was such a life changing experience for me . something I will never forget and thanks to Charlottes incredible underwater photography skills and relationship with these beautiful turtles I have several photos to look back on as well.
The Yoga classes were exactly what I needed, gentle and restorative, however if you are after more of a work out you need only ask, Charlotte can cater to all different levels of yoga enthusiasts.
The food was sensational and healthy, The girlfriend I was traveling with is Vegan and Charlotte and her Dad Tuhe made sure to cater for her without any dramas at all. we never went hungry that's for sure.
Unfortunately we encountered some rainy weather on the trip, which I was actually grateful for as it gave me the opportunity to slow down and relax, quietly read a book and practice some yoga indoors however when the rain stopped we had some of our yoga classes on the house's beautiful private beach.
The paddle boarding is next level beautiful !
Muri Lagoon with all its stunning clear water, palm trees and cute little fish offered a stunning backdrop for sup yoga. I could look at this every day and never be sad !
Our group did a 10k paddle with Tuhe which I must admit I was nervous about but it was a breeze, all that blue water and the view of the island is perfect for switching off your mind and basking in pure gratitude.
One thing that I was super happy about is that Charlotte being the awesome photographer she is managed to capture so many amazing moments for me. I love to look back on my holiday happy snaps and am never without a camera of some description . I loved being able to get in to every activity knowing that Charlotte would capture all the happy memories for me, not to say that I didn't take a billion of my own pics too but its nice to have that bonus .

The girls were so very helpful to us. The turtles that swam up to me and touch me with their fins were just fantastic. We are so happy that we chose this tour!!

Fantastic learning a little about the land culture and some stories with it. Be prepared to get muddy and wet. A load of excitement and laughs.Written 21 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Inspire263453200814 contributionsThis was one of the most magical experiences on Rarotonga. This morning, my wife and I had the privilege of snorkelling to with so many turtles and eagle rays. The guides were all Lifeguard qualified by Australian Lifeguard instructors. They go-pro footage was able to be shared straight away.
The coconut show was also really interesting and definitely a great way to wind down in the shade after a super sunny fun experience. Would definitely do it again, I might even tomorrow?!Written 12 December 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Having spent this morning on her 3 hr cycling tour with lunch, I tell you she knows more than onions! The whole experience was a pleasure, informative, "ask me any questions" , current affairs, politics, fruit, history, as we peddled along feeling totally safely and imaginatively entertained.
Somehow her candidness made this more than a Guided tour.
Thank you Corina for explaining the good, bad, eye-opening (as well as that Coconut) , colourful, truths and all.
The drink stop was a good idea, parched due to the blustery weather.
Lunch of really freshly made up BLT Turkush bread 'sandwiches' (door stops) went down a treat in the beach to conclude. Little moist muffins were most welcome.
Comfy easygoing bike made cycling a breeze. The 8 of us I'm certain all thoroughly appreciated your professionalism and punctuality, but for my part the fact I never knew what you'd show us next really kept my interest. The time flew by.
I heartily recommend Storytellers.
If you can join a tour towards the beginning of your visit, armed with Corina's knowledge, you'll enjoy far greater appreciation of Rarotonga.

Impressed with the professional team there of Cecilia and Sandy. Straightforward, well organised and good briefings. Viz was brilliant, despite the crappy weather. Water was a bit cooler than expected, so a challenge to warm up between dives. However as the dive sites were very close to where the boat was moored, we were above to come back to shore for the surface interval.
Definitely would recommend diving with them again.Written 31 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - MrNormanQueensland, Australia81 contributionsDid this with Bruce as our guide on a dry day with our 11yo daughter.
A group of 13 with a mix of very fit to very unfit set off and Bruce made sure everyone got through it successfully.
This is not a social walk, but a challenging hike, requiring the ability to climb using tree roots etc and descend using ropes.
The course is narrow, very steep, slippery in places with several stream crossings and with only a few stops to take in the views. The Needle is an option to climb, which Bruce will assist anyone to do.
The trek ends at Wigmore’s waterfall, but when we were there, it didn’t have much water flowing so didn’t look very inviting.
A lovely sandwich and fresh fruit finished off nearly 4 hours of hard work!!
Highly recommended, if you want a solid workout!!Written 25 September 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Even though the whales weren't as numerous as they were last year ( Which is in no way the operators problem ), we got to spot a number from close up (instead of from on the beach). It was a great morning out on the water with wonderful people. Highly recommend.Written 13 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Fiona S3 contributionsThe reviews of all these turtle tours are quite mixed up. We went with Papa Turtle whose reviews seem to be mixed with other operators for some reason. At $75 per person it was half the price of many offerings. The facilities on land are very basic - just a shack to keep your stuff dry and a toilet. The snorkels, masks and wetsuits are a little disorganised but Papa managed to get everyone kitted out. There were 13 people on our trip, but the one after just had 2. 13 did not feel overcrowded. We particularly avoided tours with a photographer as we have often paid in the past and been a bit disappointed and we just wanted to focus on looking at the wildlife. The current was not at all strong and fine for any reasonably competent swimmer. At the end of the tour Papa had us all sitting on SUPs and towed us back to shore. We saw so many green turtles, some of them came up very close, and quite a few fish too but sadly no rays. It was a very enjoyable snorkel and I would 100% recommend it.Written 30 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
