Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- doodlebugakjSeattle, WA1,443 contributionsCould not believe the different levels of blue in the water. We walked the beach and loved all the activities going on. Close to a lot of restaurants and shoppingWritten 10 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Tink-n-PeterEllensburg, WA43 contributionsThe was the best opportunity to purchase souvenirs of our trip, and some of the booths benefited local charities. Soap, sarongs (pareu), notecards, shirts, jewelry, and lots more. We learned that not all the items for sale are actually from Rarotonga or the Cook Islands. Food and fresh coconuts. Be prepared for a line at the atm. Parking was messy, but there were plenty of spots on the main road a short walk away.Written 30 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Rob CWellington, New Zealand64 contributionsLovely atmosphere, lots of great food options. Try the garlic prawns, they are so good we went back the following day for more, in the pouring rain.Written 16 February 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - DeanaEnumclaw, WA57 contributionsThe hike wasn't as difficult as I expected from other reviews. My husband and I (53 years old) hiked from the carpark to the top and back the same way to the car. It took us 3 hours total but we went slow due to my bad knee and stopped for pictures and spent about 30 minutes at the top. We didn't do the chain at the top because the wind was blowing very hard.Written 26 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Excursion6187591 contributionIt was well worth the money. I was curious about the inland areas of the island. And we covered this well. Historical and cultural info was delivered in an entertaining manner. Highly recommend.Written 7 February 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Voyage293242052142 contributionsWe loved the old CICC building and the Sunday service that we attended there when visiting the island. The church is decorated with colourful stained glass windows, which were open to a cooling breeze and a view of "the needle". The enthusiastic harmonised singing of the congregation was wonderful and it was fun to see the different groups of locals egging each other on. Everyone was welcoming and friendly and we were invited to share morning tea with them after the service. All in all, it was an uplifting experience and the perfect way to spend our last morning on the island.Written 31 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - MoqueenbAuckland, New Zealand16 contributionsVery entertaining. They provide a pick up and drop off service which is great if you both wish to have a drink or two. The MC was great and inclusive. The buffet was great and plenty for everyone. - ReeOsteen, FL83 contributionsThis was truly an amazing experience. I only wished the current had been better. The team was amazing. The girls were so very helpful to us. The turtles that swam up to me and touch me with their fins were just fantastic. We are so happy that we chose this tour!!

The thrill of going down the hill to end up through a large puddle is insane your whole body covered! I still a week later have mud in my ears. Highly recommend taking clothes you can throw out afterwards. The swim at the end was perfect. The staff are great so friendly and it was good to hear about the Sheraton hotels past. Don’t look past this on your visit. Also have to mention the awesome milkshake at the end.Written 28 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Zoe W13 contributionsI wasn't in any doubt when I met Corina at Saturday's market, that she knew her onions. Having spent this morning on her 3 hr cycling tour with lunch, I tell you she knows more than onions! The whole experience was a pleasure, informative, "ask me any questions" , current affairs, politics, fruit, history, as we peddled along feeling totally safely and imaginatively entertained.
Somehow her candidness made this more than a Guided tour.
Thank you Corina for explaining the good, bad, eye-opening (as well as that Coconut) , colourful, truths and all.
The drink stop was a good idea, parched due to the blustery weather.
Lunch of really freshly made up BLT Turkush bread 'sandwiches' (door stops) went down a treat in the beach to conclude. Little moist muffins were most welcome.
Comfy easygoing bike made cycling a breeze. The 8 of us I'm certain all thoroughly appreciated your professionalism and punctuality, but for my part the fact I never knew what you'd show us next really kept my interest. The time flew by.
I heartily recommend Storytellers.
If you can join a tour towards the beginning of your visit, armed with Corina's knowledge, you'll enjoy far greater appreciation of Rarotonga.

(63 and found the cycling easy!)Written 19 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews. - LegendomundoSydney, Australia4 contributionsDid a double boat dive last week with Pacific Divers. Impressed with the professional team there of Cecilia and Sandy. Straightforward, well organised and good briefings. Viz was brilliant, despite the crappy weather. Water was a bit cooler than expected, so a challenge to warm up between dives. However as the dive sites were very close to where the boat was moored, we were above to come back to shore for the surface interval.
Definitely would recommend diving with them again.Written 31 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. A group of 13 with a mix of very fit to very unfit set off and Bruce made sure everyone got through it successfully.
This is not a social walk, but a challenging hike, requiring the ability to climb using tree roots etc and descend using ropes.
The course is narrow, very steep, slippery in places with several stream crossings and with only a few stops to take in the views. The Needle is an option to climb, which Bruce will assist anyone to do.
The trek ends at Wigmore’s waterfall, but when we were there, it didn’t have much water flowing so didn’t look very inviting.
A lovely sandwich and fresh fruit finished off nearly 4 hours of hard work!!
Highly recommended, if you want a solid workout!!Written 25 September 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
