The food was delicious and we really felt looked after and treated well. We enjoyed snorkeling and seeing all the fish and the show was the best. - Amanda D1 contributionAriki Adventures were amazing, the scooters are so much fun and if you are not a strong swimmer are definitely the way to go. You get a full safety briefing, and great instruction on how to use the scooters. The guides are really knowledgable and lovely, my husband was on crutches and could only use one foot and they really made us feel well looked after and completely safe. We loved it and could not recommend Ariki Adventures highly enough . Really topped off the holiday!! I myself was not overly confident, especially swimming out over the shelf so T took myself and 2 others for our own mini tour. Then T and I went off ourselves. He was simply great, guiding and showing all the fabulous undersea life. I ventured off alone (over the shelf) and felt very proud of myself, but I couldn't have done this without his initial guidance.

It was a wonderful day sharing the ocean with their beautiful habitants and coral.

We were picked up at our resort, taken to the starting point, fitted for our bike, and off we went. Corrina (the owner and tour guide) was funny, informative, and made everyone feel at home. We rode mainly on the "old" road in the countryside away from the traffic. Saw crops, mountains, animals, etc. Ate coconuts, tamarind, and chili peppers. Too rough to see the rays, but saw some amazing turtles up close. Alana was our personal guide who kept checking to see if we felt safe - which we did. Loved every minute of it. From start to finish, it felt like so much more than just a typical outing—it was personal, intimate, and truly authentic. The small group setting allowed us to really connect with both the environment and the beauty of the turtles, making the whole experience feel special and unique.
Your passion for what you do shone through every moment, and we were so grateful to be a part of it. It’s clear that you care deeply about the ocean and that care truly enhanced the experience for us. We left with not only wonderful memories but also a deeper appreciation for the beautiful marine life.

Staff were brilliant, the scooters make it a breeze with the current (I want one), they are very easy to use. There were lots of turtles. I really love that this is such a wonderful thing to do but, the staff teach respect for the turtles as it is their home and they deserve to be safe from unwanted human interaction - no touching. You still get so close, especially when they just pop up right beside you. I downloaded the app suggested in the email when booking was confirmed - at the end of the experience staff put the photos of us onto my phone, it was so easy. I’m not a confident swimmer and my son freaked out a bit but we both had an amazing experience. They looked after us, we’re very focused on our safety and both of us had a great time. - George VPortarlington, Australia11 contributionsAvarua Escape is just magic! Delightful hosts. Second visit from Australia in 7 months! There are two, one bedroom, fully equipped units, spacious and extremely clean. Wonderful, clean pool. Washing machine etc free to use.
Situated about 500 metre easy walk to main township (shopping) or cafes or Tamarind Restaurant, Trader Jack's, Lazy Trout Cafe, Lucky Rooster cafe (breaky of lunch), central bus stop (every half hour). Close to everything - supermarket, pharmacy, ANZ bank, Western Union Bank, hire cars/scooters. Very safe.
If you are a couple or solo this is the place to stay. Just the little touches .. bread, butter, assortment of little jams, coffee, milk on arrival in fridge. Plenty of spare towels. Hosts Jodie and Macca live on the property (with gorgeous cocker spaniel, Dixon). Nothing is ever too much trouble for these wonderful hosts who go out of their way to ensure you are enjoying your holiday/break.
