Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Had the best day and the best experience. The Vaka cruise of the Aitutaki lagoon has to be one of the best highlights of any holiday i have had. The boat cruise, staff and entertainment was second to none. Thank you

Absolutely LOVED our snorkel tour of the lagoon with Leo. He was a wonderful guide and the giant clams were gorgeous with their colored lips and swimming with the giant trevally and the napoleon wrasse was incredible. One foot island looks like something out of a tropical fairy tale. Too beautiful to be real. And Mere was such a pleasure to communicate with and ride to and from the book with. Also the homemade coconut bread and beautiful fresh fruits platter were all so delicious. We absolutely loved it!

We had an amazing time with Te King and his whanau. The weather previously wasnt the best and churnes things up but he was completely honest at the start and gave people a chance to back out. That said his Island style dry witty humour and delivery was on point and he was sharp on safety. We went the three Islands and they were jaw dropping beautiful. Plenty of time in the lagoon and various points across the lagoon. Definitely recommend if youre heading this way whanau.

Choosing this tour was the best decision we made! Captain Fantastic took us out to many of the islands, stopping for walks, planting of trees and also for an amazing feed!

His tour is much smaller in size, about 10 people, which we loved! At every stop we arrived well before the other big tourist boats, meaning we got to enjoy the surroundings without the crowds of tourists on the beaches. Captain Fantastic too us to the most incredible spot for snorkelling with massive fish, giant clams and more.

He did a great job of safely navigating us through the lagoon, setting up our lunch and providing us with loads of information about the island.

Honesty can’t recommend this tour enough! ‘Meitaki Ma’ata Captain Fantastic!

We did the land tour with Ted and Rhonda. Great couple of hours with people who care about their island. History, geograpy, conservation, refreshments and lots of humour. Would 100% recommend.

Great kiting. Mike Lee was terrific! Pick up at our hotel, water taxi to Honey Moon Island, rental gear and safety boat (just in case)! He provides instruction as well! Beautiful flat shallow water near the island with deeper water just a little further out.

We could not have had a better experience!!

Best time ever! I am not confident in the water, both Maria and Peter made sure I felt safe and comfortable. Words cannot describe the amazing experience, giant clams, giant trevally, puffer fish, turtle, and every other coloured fish you can thiink of, absolutely incredible. I never would have had this experience if it was not for their kindness and caring to make sure I got the best from my trip.around the lagoon.

Both Maria's and Peter's knowledge of Aitutaki was impressive, with guided walks to see wildlife, extensive history and general knowledge. Such wonderful hosts and to top it off the best lunch ever! Thank you so much!!

This six-hour cruise to One Foot Island was the highlight of our week’s stay on Aitutaki. It’s a marvellous experience. Here you get the tropics of your dreams – sailing through stunning turquoise water with great views from the aluminium catamaran’s upper deck, walking on brilliant white sands and wading through silver shallows on the way to small islands dotted with palm trees. Then, once the craft is anchored onshore, you can snorkel among the coral with good quality flippers and mask provided by the crew. They also have life jackets for children, even little ones. There are plenty of colourful little fish and some larger trevally within the coral, and a turtle if you’re lucky. The Bishop’s lunch ashore is a glutton’s delight, including big servings of barbequed tuna steaks. The staff aboard Bishop’s cat are a delight in themselves. Our MC Matu and her offsiders entertained us on our return with local stories and island songs on ukulele and drum. They were freewheeling, warm and entertaining, and even sang nursery rhymes for the children. It’s one of the cheaper tours to One Foot Island, and for my money the best.

Wet & Wild are a professional organisation they may charge just a little bit more but they are worth it. The other organisation Aitutaki Kiteboard run by the Lee is exactly that.. Leigh constantly offers himself on the side and very much it is an aged Benny Hill Show.. your girlfriend will be hit upon along with everything else whilst you are out kiting… they may be cheaper… but nothing is sacred, they may think they are a cooler but realistically there’s little professionalism a wake of victims and are more like a bunch of Lions lying in hammocks in the sun… awaiting and playing Mikes well rehearsed games to eventually have you at the back of the coconut trees at lunch time, if that’s your thing.. go for it… but if being used and abused isn’t then personally I would recommend Wet & Wild a truely family non dramatic emotional play off organisation that offers a top notch professional service and guidance

We were so impressed with Maria and Chris. We had booked to do a charter and the day turned out to be the only day of our holiday that was torrential rain! Maria contacted us in our hotel room to see if we could switch days as it wouldn’t be as enjoyable, which we did! I was so happy as I thought we would need to go out no matter what!

Then we went out! Chris took us in the nicest boat to all the best places and it was the best day we had in Aitutaki! Unfortunately it was our last day as if we had done it on our first day we would have booked again it was that good!! We were able to zoom all over the lagoon and what we saw was just sensational!

Only had one day but what a great exoerience. Butch is a fly fisherman and a guide. I think when he is not guiding he goes fishing anyway. Butch likes to wade and sight-fish which is ideal. He does have a good fly fishing boat with a poling platform. I got some and missed some but also saw a couple I was reluctant to cast to! I did and paid the price. A great day out and highly recommended.
