Tacaña was our first stop of our tour and it was the best one. Carlos was a great tour guide (in English too). You definitely want to just hang out by the lawn on a nice day.

This is a fun stop along your drive to nazca lines. Definitely go at sunset. 5 :30pm in winter. Try to climb a dune and walk around the lagoon. Check out the mermaid statue and walk around the vendors. You can eat dinner here there are plenty of restaurants. There are some beautiful birds flying around too.

This is a quick stop along the drive to Nazca lines. Try to get here around sunset 5 pm in winter. Climb the sandy dune to view the sunset, and the oasis. Then walk to the laguna and enjoy the reeds, boats, mermaid statue and walk around. Tons of vendors, restaurants. We had a driver along the way so he was in the car while we hung out. We got some souvenirs. Beautiful jewelry. It was a nice experience

This trip was beautiful!! Our guide was just amazing! He knows the desert like the back of his hand and offers a tour like no other. Yes it was a long day, but we made a few stops along the way to view the scenery! I went with my two kids ages 12 and 10, it was our first time at a canyon, they enjoyed it. The weather did change through the day, it started very hot and by the time we reached the final spot it had cooled down quite a bit. We definitely needed our sweaters!
We went with Waranqu, they have a bnb and they offer the day tours as well!

This was one of the included stops along our Peru Hop route. It was great as we were given a 30 minute guided tour of the winery and later had our first tasting experience of Pisco. We loved it and decided to buy a few bottles for our long journey ahead.

The staff were very friendly and our Peru Hop on board crew, Christian, helped in the entertainment as well.

A surprisingly nice museum in Ica, with a nice collection of artifacts and some mommies. Expanantions are available in English, and the museum is quite interesting. The tour will.take you between 30minutes and 1h, and I would say it is worth it.
Going to the museum will cost you 3 soles with a tuctuc from Plaza de Armas.

The park has been really nicely done with statues of a lot of witches; it is really very small - just for a quick visit - but nice to know the history.

Although American mainstream academia dismisses this collection outright, European academia does not. I dont think these have anything to do with the bible and Im not a Christian, but simply in and of themselves the Ica Stones are part of a growing body of evidence pointing to an alternate view of history. Sometimes the only good answer is "I dont know"

A structure which was once a major sanctuary. Currently awaiting refurbishment and reconstruction. Earthquake damage is very visible.

Our tour guide showed us the vineyards and walked us through the process of making their wines and pisco. They have a gorgeous view of mountains behind their vineyard. Our guide was willing to answer questions and provided generous pours for the tastings at the conclusion of the tour.

Bodega tres Esquinas have been making Pisco since 1856.

Having indulged in the Pisco cocktails since arriving in Peru, I was interested to see how it's made.

The entire process takes only 2 weeks from grape to bottle.

The tour was crudely touristy for the large bus group I was in, but it was bearable.

You get to taste 3 wines and a creamy pisco (similar to Irish Cream).

    The wine was surprisingly tasty!

You can buy a variety of Pisco, shot glasses, chocolates and ice-cream.

We had a great tasting experience here. Followed by an big delicious meal with a little dance show. Super fun! This was a stop along the way to huacachina from paracas. I would have been happy to just do nietto and go back to chill at hotel. Adding the huacachina stuff makes for a big day.

Seven headed palm tree, associated with a witch’s prediction for the destruction of the town of Ica. Small fenced off area which you pay to enter. Not sure why, when all there is to see is visible outside the fence. Quick photo and off again. Not really worth the effort, even though only 5 to 10 mins. taxi ride from Ica.
