Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- fartoomanyusersLondon, UKWe came here on New Year's Day on a coach trip from Zagreb, as we weren't sure if the roads would be difficult. In fact it hadn't snowed for 10 days - and the road were completely clear!
Most of the facilities around the lower lakes seemed to be open - even on New Year's Day - and while it wasn't too busy, there were plenty of people and a good buzz.
The park itself is seriously impressive - even though you can only access a small part in Winter. Only the lower lakes, and only some of the lake edge paths. It's a magical place with the snow all around. And the boat trip across the lake was wonderful.
On the day we visited the conditions were reasonably mild - hardly any wind, and no falling snow. Lots of the people in our group were very lucky - even with a bit of a wind they would have been frozen! Some of the paths had packed snow/ice and were quite difficult - so bring walking poles if you can find some.
On a nice day in winter this is a great place to visit.Written 6 February 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Would aim to get past them before the boardwalks start and then once you get onto the boat, head to P2 and take route C. This was so lovely and had hardly any visitors so was far more peaceful to walk around and had some fantastic viewsWritten 21 May 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - SnowyShastaPortland, ORWe visited Plitvice by starting at entrance 1, which had us start above with a view of Veliki Slap and other nearby features, and then head down to a closer viewpoint below it. I liked this entrance, it gave us the dramatic overview and then a chance to be up close with the waterfall itself. This was one of the more crowded places we were all day, with lots of people around taking pictures and selfies, so be prepared for that unless you're very early or late in the day.Written 25 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Rachel DMatakana, New ZealandA highlight, absolutely stunning even on a wet cold day.
Gate one was the most spectacular, but we managed to do both and loved every minute.Written 25 June 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. This fall is just below the bigger Veliki slap yet just as beautiful to see. We were ther e at the end of the winter period so couldn't get down to the board walks underneath it due to the snow on them but you could still get a good view of these from the high vantage point across from it. Still lovely to view it from there.Written 28 July 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
