Jax, our guide, was so friendly and gave great recommendations for ordering at Salt Lick and for finding other activities/restaurants around Austin to suit everyone's taste. I liked the group size as well, as it gave everyone the opportunity to chat and get to know one another. Needless to say we wound up staying here for over two hours! Each exhibit was incredible and we love that you could interact with each one. It was such a fun and cool experience. If you are new to the city, I would strongly recommend doing this tour on your first day or two in town, as it really helps get you oriented to the city. Morpheus was our tour guide, and he was friendly, funny, and gave great information and recommendations. We drove around Austin for an hour then boarded a pontoon boat with plastic chairs and a boat captain who “keeps Austin weird”. We saw a few bats but it was apparently not the huge event we hoped for. Apparently, August is the most flyable month for massive movements of bats. The view from the boat was ideal, and I doubt those standing on the bridge saw much at all. Got off the bus at the LBJ Presidential library and toured and the bus arrived to pick us up right on time! Jason was the host and he did a great job with stories and facts about the city.
