We did this tour in may 2024 and we really enjoyed it. Our guide Nami was great. The scenery was nice at the waterfall even under the rain. The tour at the shrine was also instructive with the local guides and the meal we had was very local and full of savor.
    I recommend this tour.

We had splendid time in Shizuoka Prefecture with Hisato as our tour guide/photographer and Mr. Uchida (unsure of spelling) as the taxi driver!

Prior to the tour, Hisato communicated through email and WhatsApp. She created a detailed itinerary for the day based on the places that we'd requested to visit, including options for lunch locations.

Hisato met us at the cruise terminal at 8:00am with an illustrated welcome sign with my name on it. She brought her camera and offered to take photos throughout the tour. Between and during the various stops, Hisato provided details about the history of the area and country (the visuals provided via her iPad were a nice enhancement).

1st Stop: Shiraito Falls - While riding to the destination, we were able to see Mt. Fuji. - We were dropped off by the local bus stop close to the upper overlook (not the parking lot for the buses and cars), then walked down the stairs to the bottom to experience beautiful views of the falls (the walk down is not bad, but some light stretching may be beneficial on the way back up!). - There were only a handful of visitors (at one point, we had the place to ourselves!). Arrived at the falls around 9:15am, left around 9:40am.

2nd Stop: FamilyMart - Restroom break, arrived around 9:45am, left around 9:50am.

3rd Stop: Shizuoka Sengen Shrine - Enjoyed the zen vibe and learning about the shrine. - Arrived around 10:10am, left around 10:45am.

4th Stop: Souvenir Shop - Someone from the group wanted to purchase a tea set, and Hisato arranged a stop at a quaint store that was close to the restaurant. - Arrived around 11:15am, left around 11:45am.

5th Stop: Kichi to Naru Kitchen - Since the tour was only six hours, I'd initially opted out of a lunch stop. However, with the restaurant options provided, we chose to dine at Kichi to Naru Kitchen. - The weather forecasted that Mt. Fuji may be more visible in the afternoon, so Hisato rearranged the tour schedule to have lunch before visiting Obuchi Sasaba and even placed the lunch order prior to our arrival. - The food was...delicious! I ordered the grilled curry with vegetables, angel shrimp and mussels. I only wish that I would have asked for the vinaigrette dressing recipe that was used on the limitless salad. - Arrived around 11:50am, left around 12:40pm.

6th Stop: Obuchi Sasaba - Saw the green tea fields, sampled green tea and had a good view of Mt. Fuji. - Arrived around 1:10pm, left around 1:35pm.

7th Stop: On the way back to the cruise ship, Mr. Uchida made an impromptu stop so that we could have a final view of Mt. Fuji. - Arrived around 1:55pm, left around 2:05pm.

We were dropped off at S-Pulse Dream Plaza. When the tour was officially over, Hisato assisted us with some souvenir shopping by interpreting labels and locating stores of interest.

After the tour, she sent photos that she'd taken and souvenir shopping options at the airport.

If you are looking for a tour guide in the Shizuoka/Shimizu Mt. Fuji area who is knowledgable, organized, professional and courteous, then request Hisato (hopefully, she can also bring along Mr. Uchida!)!

The entire experience was exceptional. We received a welcome message with photo of our ship arriving including Mt. Fuji in background. Our guide Michiko and our driver were knowledgeable and attentive. They got us to perfect photo shots of Fuji and waterfalls and exceeded all expectations by finding us a mail box and our final souvenirs. Michiko also explained the ceremonies at the temple ensuring we could experience the rituals. Highly recommend.

While in Shimizu port, we had a private for our tour that took us to a beautiful shrine and also a viewing area of Mount Fuji. The day was clear and we saw Mount Fuji. We were all very excited. In addition, we also visited a volcanic Beach and also took a gondola up a mountain, we were a group of eight from our cruise and we had a driver and a wonderful guide, Hiroko. Our guide was so wonderful, wonderful accommodating and very knowledgeable. She was able to tell us the history and the cultural information from each of the areas. This was a wonderful day as I said it was only four hours, but we were able to see some really beautiful sites we were able to shop around the port once our tour was over, I highly recommend booking this excursion. We were blessed with a beautiful tour guide on a clear and beautiful day and saw Mount Fuji throughout the day.

Very Great and unforgettable experiences! The tour guide Stella was very professional with good English speaking! She also helped us to arrange the tea making in the following day, so that we could have more fun! Sakyo-san was also very professional in introducing different kinds of tea to us! We enjoyed it so much!

Highly recommended tour package. It will cover the most popular tourist destinations in Japan in 8 days. Private tour or small group tours are ideal at leisure. We travelled by comfort high roof AC van and stayed overnight at super clean hotels nothing less than 3 start standard. The two days Japanese country and cultural experience in Setoda Island @Onomichi was awesome. My tour guide Matt made my trip so memorable. He was very friendly and helpful to us. Best ever jovial and down to earth guy. He is very knowledgeable and informative of the tour destinations and attractions. Amazing overall experience and had a wonderful time. Really value for money. ♥️ I felt like home.

This review is strictly for our tour guide, Kumi Aoki. Originally we scheduled for a private all day tour and vehicle in Hakone but a few weeks before our trip we were informed that the tour company could secure a vehicle for the day. We were given the choice of cancelling or to keep our tour guide and be responsible for transportation. Luckily, we decided to keep our tour guide, Kumi, because she was amazing and totally made our trip to Hakone a memorable one! She also helped us arrange transportation to the train station after our tour. I highly recommend a private tour guide, especially when travelling to another country. With Kumi, she made sure we hit all the important sights and that we stayed on schedule. She was able to knowledgably talk to us about each location that we visited and taught us things we would have never learned on our own. She was so friendly and caring. She was great with our two young children and my elderly mother. If you are in Hakone and have the choice, make sure to request Kumi. She is the BEST!

We had a perfect guideid tour with our guide Miyuki, everything went smoothly and we were lucky with the weather too so we were able to get a full view of Mount Fuji. The hosts at the tea farm were super friendly and knowledgeable and we enjoyed getting to know the details of tea picking and different types of teas including a tea tasting. Overall a great experience!

I absolutely loved this tour! My three male travel companions were not as enthusiastic about the prospect of a bike tour however really enjoyed it - much to their surprise. It was a real pleasure to see some sights outside of downtown as well as get some fresh air and exercise to burn off a few soba noodles :) I especially treasured the insights from Hero who showed us where he grew up, where his mate’s cafe is, and where he played mahjong as a teenager. It was great to help imagine “real life” in Shizuoka. Thank you so much, we’ll definitely be in touch if we travel to the region again (fingers crossed!).

Eight of us began our half- day private tour with our charming and informative guide, Miyuki on the day’s first run of a 5-minute Nihondaira Cable Car gondola ride to the top of Mt Kuno to visit the Kunōzan Tōshōgu Shrine. It’s one of Japan’s national treasures with its vibrant colors and state-of- the-art construction in a perfect mountain setting. It is the original burial place of the first shōgun of the Tokugawa shogunate, Tokugawa Ieyasu. (early arrival at the cable car spared us very long lines later in the morning as multiple buses showed up with other cruise passengers .)

A return ride on the cable car brought us to a plateau above the shrine for a visit to the Nihondaira Yume Terrace for views in every direction.

Final stop - Miho Beach and Pine Tree Grove – part of the Mount Fuji UNESCO Heritage Site. A wooden boardwalk known as Kami no Michi (God’s Road) leads you to a beach spanning over 7km with more than 30,000 pine trees growing along the seashore, some of them over 650 years old.

Morning haze lifted, revealing a spectacular view of Mount Fuji seeming to float over the volcanic black sand beach.

This tour company was a pleasure to work with. Clear communications and a good value.
