Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Got a shuttle from our hotel for a few hours.
My friend had been before some years ago and was surprised how much it had changed (much busier and more commercialised). However, for me it was nearer to what I had imagined Vietnam to be compared to where we had visited before.
The historic buildings were wonderful and some of the fares in the shops looked lovely. On the whole though it was extremely busy, very hot, and we were constantly pounced on by the locals.
We came across an eatery and bar by chance near the river (The Spice Route) which provided some respite.

Amazing museum capturing the beauty of the minorities in Vietnam. Would absolutely recommend! The photos are beautiful and the cultural history is so interesting.

Loved our afternoon here. The beach was gorgeous..lovely gold sand and very clean. The water was clear and warm. We swam in front of a beach club (recommend doing this) and lay on sun beds..the whole area was well looked after. A Bang beach has definitely improved since our last visit a few years ago.

We were in Hoi An for a couple of days and had a lovely time. The Night Market along the main street of the city really makes the time go by quite easily and it brings the whole place to life. Countless vendors sell their wares along the banks of the river. It's quite an experience.

    Beautiful cultivation mainly of greens.
We enjoyed a lot walking between the plots learning from masters of veggie growers.

We recommend stopping in ‘Mai Home Tra Que’- Simple and beautiful place, inside the vegetable gardens.
Cozy place to sit and watch the green plots enjoying good air and view from a perfect location.

Very friendly hosts, was very interesting conversation with Hung who is full of knowledge and speaks flawless english.

We attended the Teh Dar Show in Hoi An, which I found to be an awe-inspiring cultural spectacle. The blend of acrobatics, traditional music, and storytelling created a mesmerising experience. Each performance was a captivating journey through Vietnamese heritage, performed with extraordinary skill and passion. The production values were top-notch, making it a must-see for anyone visiting Hoi An. Highly recommended!

Came back here after many years, so many things changed. Beautiful beach was washed away by the waves. So sad. But the government has been trying so hard to revive it. Still beautiful beach, perfect temperature for swimming or just strolling around and chill out at 1 of the bars along the beach.

We did the half day cooking class with Suan.
It included a tour around the Hoi An market where our guide bought some local produce for us to try, a quick walking tour around one of the Tra Que farms as well as cooking and eating 4 local dishes. We made fresh spring rolls, papaya salad, a fish stew and Vietnamese pancakes. The food was absolutely delicious and Suan was very helpful and attentive. She kept us all entertained and taught us a lot about the Vietnamese culture. Any trip to Hoi An would be incomplete without doing this class! 100% recommended.

Founded in 1786, this lovely assembly hall is a significant cultural and religious centre in Hoi An. Its tall entrance opens on to a beautiful, grand mosaic statue of a dragon and a carp. The main altar is dedicated to Quan Cong, a revered personality who represents many virtues, including sincerity, loyalty, integrity and justice.
Apart from being dedicated to spiritual beliefs, this assembly hall also holds meetings for other community purposes.

The Hoi An Market is full of life for the greatest part of the day, any day of the week. There are dozens, probably hundreds of stalls selling just about everything. There are clothing items, touristy trinkets and huge amounts of food items, from fresh meat and poultry to fish, dried and other foods. Very exciting!

We enjoyed Ba Le Well. We had a set menu that included banh xeo (pancakes), with skewered meat (chicken or pork), pickled vegetables and fresh lettuce /mint, wrapped in rice paper. Delicious.
