We visited Saklikent for the 4th time, it's so pretty.
Myself and a friend went down the river on dinghies, it was great fun, I've never laughed so much, I would do it again in a heartbeat. I also found the area that has all the beautiful flowers, swing chairs water fountains, and seating. If you go, the area I'm talking about is past the market stalls, which is so worth the short walk.

we got the bus from fethiye to the valley, and on arrival was a little disappointed! the views from the top was fantastic however felt something was missing. buses come at various times and the wait can be long so opted for a taxi back to the town after staying there less than an hour. the views was fantastic and that was the best bit. I guess atleast we can say we have been there and done it.

the experience may have been completely different if we did it by boat and was at the bottom of the valley.

The ancient writer Panyasis introduces all of them except Kragos as cities in the Xanthos Valley, Tlos, Pınara Xanthos and Kragos as children of a nymph Pradixike and Tremile. It is accepted that Tlos is the same city as Dlawa in the Lukka lands in the Hittite texts of the 14th century BC, Tlawa mentioned in the Lycian inscriptions in later periods and Tlos in Greek texts and that its foundation dates back to the 2nd millennium BC. When approaching the city, the dominant view of the acropolis impresses the visitors a lot. The surroundings of the acropolis hill, which is naturally protected by steep slopes, have been reinforced and fortified with walls in places. The early period city walls and rock tombs in the north-east of the acropolis are examples of Lycian culture. The water walls observed mostly in the eastern and southeastern parts were built in the Roman period and were repaired in the Byzantine period using the materials of many structures and even some sarcophagus graves. The walls at the top, made of reclaimed stones, belong to a late-era settlement of a bey assigned by the Ottoman Empire in the 19th century. The ruins mentioned above are interesting in terms of exhibiting the cultural phases experienced by the Acropolis Hill in a narrow space at the same time. There is a stadium in which crespis can be counted up to 12 rows of seats continuing parallel to the rampart walls in the area supporting the carefully crafted Roman period rampart walls on the eastern slope of the acropolis. The building groups observed opposite the stadium belong to the Roman period and although their functions are not clearly stated today, they must belong to the agora and its sections. The ruins we observe in the southern part of this area belong to the gymnasium, palestra and bath structures. There is a Roman theatre built on a vaulted gallery in the easternmost part of the site. The stage building of the theatre with a single diazoma has survived to the third floor of the northern section. The Lycian inscription blocks in the northern paradox must have been used as spolia material at the time of its expansion or repair. There is a three-storey bathhouse built in the Roman period at a point overlooking the Xanthos Valley to the south of the stadium.

It would have been helpful if the site offered a bit more information regarding its history. This will keep you amused for 2-3 hours. Bring sensible shoes as some of the paths are quite rough.

This was one of our favorite ancient sites to explore in Turkiye. This Lycian site is high in the hills with lots of pine tree cover and shade. There is no fee to enter and no crowds. Excavations are minimal here, which adds to the charm of seeing a site before significant restorations. There is a rest room on site and a few signs indicating what you are looking at along with a very vague map. There is an agora, stadium, theater, baths, cisterns, city walls, tombs, and temples dating back to at least 5th century BC. We had difficulty finding the theater but eventually found it. It was straight up the steep hill directly behind the rest rooms. There are foot paths within the site but little signage. The views from this site (when you get out of the tree cover) are beautiful. I say hills loosely, this site is high in the mountains. There are minimal uncovered remains here over a very large area. Plan to spend at least an hour exploring (or less if moving quickly). The site is out of the way, so I’m not sure if public transportation goes near.

Never will I visit this place. Ignoring animal welfare and clearly have no heart or compassion. How can you do this? Think you need to make huge donations and make big apologies to the public..Its an awful place and I will never return again.

You are a disgrace and I could say so much more!!

Animals are stunning creature's and you allowed such cruelty. m

Went as a family at the end of October and can honestly say this was an amazing day out. I have never laughed so much, my kids are hard to please but even now a month later they still talk about this day out with Animal. Animal is the perfect host and his humour is second to none. If you go to Fethiye, oludeniz or hisaronu for a holiday this is an absolute must, I can guarantee you will not be disappointed.

We booked the safari experience. What a great day. Loved the trip. Started with a trip to a waterfall. Bring your water shoes! Then we did a trip wire. Looked after and great. We then went to the Saklikent gorge and did the rubber ring rafting. Great. Our driver Murphy and the guide Erol was amazing. Really impressed with this safari. Five stars 🌟 👌🙏❤️

Our trip with beautiful Ros was definitely one of the highlights of our two week journey through Turkey. Ahmed is a super friendly and experienced skipper who has built the boat himself - quite an achievement, and you feel he has put all his heart into this project. Co-skipper and chef Sunny prepared the most delicious meals for us, and all four days were spent swimming - SUPing - eating - sleeping (repeat). There was plenty of time for hikes, snorkling, and good conversations.
It was such a contrast to the huzz and buzz of Fethiye - a very chill trip in the peace and quiet of the beautiful 12 Islands.
Although our cabin was spacious and lovely, I slept on deck all nights, under the milky way.
I highly recommended this cruise - I loved it so much!!

Fabulous day trip with Jerry and his family.
    The trip is was wonderful.
The lunch was really tasty and the garlic dip to die for.
We went to several different places including rabbit island where Jerry took food for them all. Lots of time to swim and sunbathe if you so wish.
On the way back we were given cake which was delicious.
We enjoyed it that much we booked to go again the following week.
We were picked up from our hotel on time and dropped off about 5pm.
Will definitely be going again 5 stars all the way.

For many years we have booked this as a private boat trip and are never disappointed. The boat is beautiful and spotlessly clean and Ekinim and his wife are such great hosts. The lunch provided is amazing with lots of variety and plenty of it and we always have simply the best day this trip for us is a must!
