We were staying locally and decided to go out for dinner on Thursday night. The marina is only a mile from our hotel and there are lots of restaurants to choose from. There are carriage rides going up and down the main street.

Having read recent reviews we went into the Medina well prepared. Having shopped in the markets of Delhi, the souk in Marrakech, the tourist markets in Turkey and the streets of Egypt we are aware of most of the tricks and tactics that would be employed against us. It was nearly lunchtime and we were the only tourists about. Yes we were approached by all the traders but there was no pressure to buy. A quick no thanks or even having a look in their shop then moving on was accepted. We did make a purchase when we saw something we wanted and yes we did have to haggle, but even the shopkeeper told us to haggle. I think we started at 1 item priced at 280 dinar and finished up with 2 items for 80 dinar. We were both happy. Go with a sense of humour and fortitude. You will be fine. The streets of the Medina are beautiful. It would be a shame to miss out.

This is a pleasant place to visit. Has a lot of history and culture. The Villa is well preserved and pleasant to walk around. There is no food in the place and you have to pay 5 Dinar to visit but well worth a visit. Depending on where you stay, if you plan to visit Yasmine Hamammet then take a taxi which is 15 Dinar one way as tour guides bookings will charge more and you really do not need a tour guide. It also has a Colosseum so worth a visit. While you are there take a taki to Kasbah as its close by.

Small nice theme park for kids and grown ups. Nothing compared to the huge theme parks in USA or UK that I have been to. Quite limited. Nice for taking pictures and walk around. Quite busy!

Located in old Hammamet this is worth spending some time visiting. You pay 8 dinar to enter the old fort if you like a bit of history and culture go and visit.

Getting a taxi was a complete bun fight. Don't bother queuing or being polite, you just have to go for it passengers are getting.g out ot you are in fir a very long wait!

Mall is a pretentious name ... it's actually a supermarket. A good place for souvenir lovers and local products, wit fix price. No sellers to bother you trying to sell more than you want, you can freely choose what you want.

This is a lovely little parish that is very devotional. I was on holiday in Hammamet and they were very welcoming toward me.

Museum not easy to find but is well worth visiting. Museum has a lot of interesting historical artefacts as well as displays of Tunisian life. Cost 10 Dinars but was well worth it. Has good views from rooftop terrace.

Don't go to Pupput if you are looking for a place with lots of signs, explanations and descriptions. However, if you want the chance to just wander around a partly excavated Roman site, imagine what it was like, and enjoy the peace and quiet, watch the birds and insects, then this is a good, and cheap way to do it. No one else there, five dinar entrance, and a cafe serving good mint tea just outside.

We walked a long way from the town center to find the Neapolis site and it was a disappointment . We paid the 5 dinars each entry & I added the 1 dinar for permission to take photos , but had a hard time finding anything worth taking a picture of .
The mosaics at the nymphs bath house are in a pitiful state , open to the elements and loosing all their color . The underground sewerage system is about the only thing in a good state sadly . The actual salting site is not much better unfortunately. There are toilets on site and at least it was open unlike Pupput & the archaeological museum in Nabeul , plus the walk was healthy so gets 2 stars instead of 1 .There appears to be a lot more to discover on this site , but not the means to bring the ruins to the surface , which may be a good idea for their preservation as visitors can actually walk on the ancient paving .

This place was probably fantastic when it first opened but it doesn't look like a penny has been spent on it since then.

Broken sun loungers just left anywhere, loose handrails on bridges, weeds growing through the paving, paint peeling off the walls of the pools, lazy river not flowing (I assume it did at one point), closed down & carry looking food outlet.....

One good point was that when I cut my elbow on one of the tube rides the man in charge if first aid patched me up quickly & thoroughly. I probably wouldn't have injured myself if the tubes had been properly maintained though!

We had fun but the owners need to do some renovations before next summer.

A lot of small stands selling cloths, cheap jewels, souvenirs, traditional products and many other things. The problem is that if you pay a little attention to the sellers, they get distressing and insist on making you buy something. I didn't like their attitude. Better avoid.
