Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The building is fabulous ,the floors rival those found iin The Winter Palace of St Petersberg , the stained glass is astonishing ,Italian of course .The bathroom with tiles and glass walk way across tiles with gold embellishment rivals anywhere in the best Palaces .

The city's biggest and most historic mosque, set on an open square so you can get a good view. We saw it from our tour bus, passed by too quickly, but it was magnificent, one of the most important sites in town.

This museum has many artifacts but some of the disploys are in the dark basement which are difficult to see if there are more than a few people viewing. The scuptures discovered under water were fascinating.

Named after Ibrahim Pasha, commander in the 19th century Egyptian army and later successor of his father Mohamed Ali as Wali (governor). Constructed in 1948 one hundred years after his death.

The design of this fine mosque is by Italian architect Mario Rossi and shows blending of Mamluk and Ottoman styles. Note the elegant minaret has a clock in the middle part.

Saint Mark supposedly was from this city and left his mark on Egypt, converting many, establishing Christianity which continues today, especially with this beautiful church. We did not go in, but our tour guide showed it to us and emphasized its importance.

Came here for lunch and also to buy some groceries, but you can't help browsing the many shops here either. Toilets were clean too.

The beautifully restored Alexandria Opera House dates from 1918. It was built in neoclassicist style, but with obvious oriental elements (architect Georges Baroque, French national). The statue in front is of Nubar Pasha (first Prime Minister of Egypt - late 19th century). The name of the Opera House has been changed several times. Nowadays its official name is Sayed Darwish Theatre.

This cathedral is the center of the Roman Catholic community in Alexandria currently very much involved in supporting refugees and migrants.

The neo-Baroque style building dates from the 1850s. The impressive facade was added in 1927. The cathedral is dedicated to Catherine of Alexandria, according to legend a princess who lived in the fourth century AD, converted to Christianity and eventually was executed by the Roman rulers.

Not only the peaceful setting is pleasant, but the beautifully decorated interior of the church as well.

The body of Italian king Victor Emmanuel III is not longer buried here, but was repatriated to Italy in 2017.

Thank you for bringing Thailand to Egypt!

I tried the Thai Massage by a Native Thai called Yao who was just amazing.

As an athlete, I needed her to target certain areas and she did all that.

Much better than the thai massage I tried in Thailand a few years back.

    Thank you FS Alexandria!
