Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Stopped by here to see the pillar. Had a local guide explain it to me. You can walk around it but not tons to see. It is in great shape.

The monastery is located some distance from Alexandria and getting there was an adventure in itself Google Maps was surprisingly good).
The site is of significant importance to Christians as it hosts the relics of St. Minas. The place was busy with local tour groups. There is no entrance fee and the grounds were decorated with beautiful paintings and mosaics. There are also vendor booths with both religious items and local foods.

He's the local hero and here is his statue in a prominent place on a major square. Our tour bus went by it slowly a couple of times. It is displayed in magnificence.

Our tour bus passed this site as we drove around the city. The square around it is impressive even though the statue is not much. Lots of big buildings are around it.

Donated in 2002 by an association to promote Greek-Egyptian friendship, the statue of Alexander is located at the Southeastern entrance to the city.

Alexander was known for his opposition to the Persian empire and eventually succeeded in defeating the Persian armies. At the same time Alexander was also preoccupied with expanding the Hellenistic sphere of influence. It resulted in the founding of Alexandria in 331 Before Christ. Not much is left from this time period in present day Alexandria.
