Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- Kristina BJacksonville, FL45 contributionsI went on a girls trip to Panama in 2023 and my friends wanted to take a boat ride in the canal. I wasn't initially all that excited about it, but it was a pleasant surprise. I really enjoyed our boat ride and learning some of the history behind it. I also saw a few different species of monkeys, which was a highlight.Written 3 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Kristina BJacksonville, FL45 contributionsMy friends and I stayed in an airbnb in Casco Viejo and it was the perfect area to stay in. All of the architecture was beautiful, and there were so many shops and restaurants to go to as well. A must see!Written 3 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Amina PAtlanta, GA46 contributionsMy visit to the Miraflores Locks in Panama was truly unforgettable! The entire experience was a blend of stunning views and fascinating history. Watching the massive ship navigate through the locks was awe-inspiring, and the informative movie provided great insights into the engineering marvel of the Panama Canal. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable, making the visit even more enjoyable. I highly recommend this attraction to anyone visiting Panama; it's a must-see that beautifully showcases the country's rich maritime heritage!Written 28 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - TSG365San Diego, CA101 contributionsUse Uber to go here, very cheap. Deals for days and if you like shopping you will shop until you drop! There is something here for everyone. I don’t believe there are 700 stores in this mall as I did walk around the entire thing, but it took me 5 hours to go through it. Start on the first floor and see if you can work your way all the way to the other end. When you get to the second floor, it doesn’t seem like the more exciting stores are up there. In general, some of the stores start to blend together and look like they sell the same stuff but different names. You have to pay to use the restroom, but if you have a receipt from Paul restaurant, that will get you in for free. The bathrooms are nothing special.Written 30 July 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Teddy GSan Francisco, CA4 contributionsWe recently visited Cinta Costera and were pleasantly surprised by how clean and vibrant the area was! Given what friends had told us about their experiences a few years ago, we expected to find a litter-strewn mess. Instead, we discovered a beautifully maintained space brimming with life. The trash was all contained in bins, and the surroundings were spotless.
Walking from the Paitilla Hotel to Casco Antiguo was a fantastic experience. Not only did we get some great exercise, but we also had the chance to mingle with locals. Everyone we encountered was friendly, offering smiles and warm greetings of "hola." The atmosphere was lively, with families, joggers, and cyclists all enjoying the open space.
Cinta Costera is definitely a highlight of our trip, and we highly recommend it to anyone looking to experience the heart of Panama City. It’s a perfect blend of exercise, culture, and stunning views!Written 26 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Bring bug spray too and cameras.Written 11 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

We got there at 8:00am/8:30am. I would recommend getting there at 7am or 7:30am right when it opens. It was very hot in the late afternoon. We spotted a sloth, agoutis, and a coati. It's a very kid-friendly hike and not too hard. Not stroller friendly, so best to use a backpack/hiking baby carrier for the little one. Bring water, bug spray, hat/shade. We had a wonderful time and the view of the city was beautiful. Make sure you climb the stairs at the viewpoint to get an even better view of the city.Written 4 June 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Paulista668SĂŁo Paulo317 contributionsIt may sound odd to say iot but my visit to this museum was actually better than the real thing. My trip to the Visitor Center was a letdown as it consisted of a film and a viewing platform at the Miraflores lock where I saw no ships. This museum is packed with information about all kinds of aspects of the canal with photographs, documents, maps, films, taped recollections. Definitely worth a visit.Written 17 July 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- marcy wcharlestown rhode island119 contributionsJust spent a week in Gamboa where we hiked and nature watched in this park. I highly recommend it and Gamboa for a beautiful and relaxing get- a -way. We relied on Augustin for rides to and from Gamboa/Tocumen Airport. He said he would do tours too. Save his number if you are planning to go to Gamboa. There are no Ubers in Gamboa once you get there so you need to make arrangements to get back to the city. Augustin's telephone number is 507 6376 8266. His car is clean and well maintained, and he is a good driver. The car fits 4 people.Written 18 June 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
