Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- Kristina BJacksonville, FL45 contributionsI went on a girls trip to Panama in 2023 and my friends wanted to take a boat ride in the canal. I wasn't initially all that excited about it, but it was a pleasant surprise. I really enjoyed our boat ride and learning some of the history behind it. I also saw a few different species of monkeys, which was a highlight.Written 3 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Kristina BJacksonville, FL45 contributionsMy friends and I stayed in an airbnb in Casco Viejo and it was the perfect area to stay in. All of the architecture was beautiful, and there were so many shops and restaurants to go to as well. A must see!Written 3 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- Teddy GSan Francisco, CA4 contributionsWe recently visited Cinta Costera and were pleasantly surprised by how clean and vibrant the area was! Given what friends had told us about their experiences a few years ago, we expected to find a litter-strewn mess. Instead, we discovered a beautifully maintained space brimming with life. The trash was all contained in bins, and the surroundings were spotless.
Walking from the Paitilla Hotel to Casco Antiguo was a fantastic experience. Not only did we get some great exercise, but we also had the chance to mingle with locals. Everyone we encountered was friendly, offering smiles and warm greetings of "hola." The atmosphere was lively, with families, joggers, and cyclists all enjoying the open space.
Cinta Costera is definitely a highlight of our trip, and we highly recommend it to anyone looking to experience the heart of Panama City. It’s a perfect blend of exercise, culture, and stunning views!Written 26 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - cherylbrownclncAustin, TX20 contributionsWalked through a housing area then up the steep mountain. Multiple switch-backs. Plenty of shade and animals to observe. About a 30 minute walk up. Take water.Written 2 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- ReshOakland, CA28 contributionsThe staff were friendly. It was easy to catch an uber there and back. We got here early and glad we did. We got there at 8:00am/8:30am. I would recommend getting there at 7am or 7:30am right when it opens. It was very hot in the late afternoon. We spotted a sloth, agoutis, and a coati. It's a very kid-friendly hike and not too hard. Not stroller friendly, so best to use a backpack/hiking baby carrier for the little one. Bring water, bug spray, hat/shade. We had a wonderful time and the view of the city was beautiful. Make sure you climb the stairs at the viewpoint to get an even better view of the city.Written 4 June 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Suum Cuique33 contributionsTo get a grand view of Panama City, go to Panaviera. It's breathtaking, to say the least. Show up early, around 4ish, and u won't be disappointed. As for the rest of the experience, go somewhere else unless you are on a hot date and planning on drinking regardless, then stay, as the irrelevance of the staff, lack of basic services, and quality of drinks won't matter. :)Written 23 June 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - TrvlForFnSunnyvale, CA33 contributionsWe didn’t know basically anything about Panamá prior to this tour. Eric, our tour guide is very dynamic, friendly and very knowledgeable. While on the tour, Eric provided just enough information to keep us captivated. Eric took us through the entire social spectrum of Panama City. We came to know that like many countries and places in the world, Panama is a very beautiful place. While staying here in Panama City and nearby towns, the people are unbelievably polite and friendly. Eric took us to Miraflores Locks in Panama Canal. We saw a few big ships passing through the Locks in the canal, which was fun to watch. Overall we really enjoyed this tour and will strongly recommend it!Written 19 April 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Susan H1 contributionIt was an amazing day with Barefoot Panama Tours. Our tour guide was excellent!! I highly recommend asking for Gonzo. He is a native Panamanian and speaks English better than most Americans. Haha. His knowledge of the area is extensive, and he has great stories he will share with you. It was my best day out of a 10-day visit to Panama!!!Written 28 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
