Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- Richard HBixby, OK26 contributionsWe stayed two nights in Casco Viejo after completing a cruise of the Panama Canal. The old town was very easy to walk and was an interesting place to explore. We found many nice restaurants, bars, museums and shops. The locals told us that the red brick paved streets in Casco Viejo indicated the areas that were heavily patrolled by local police and that they were safe late into the night and we found that to be true. It was a very enjoyable stay.Written 5 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- Nicole Petrine HGeorge Town, Great Exuma12 contributionsNice mall, a big mall. The arcade and bowling ally was the reason we went. Facility had a lot of games (a few were not working but so many options you didn't miss those non working ones.)
It was clean, friendly a very big area and a good experience. (Arcade)
Its like an indoor flea market with many stores that are in the American Malls, (i.e) Bath Bodywork, Lacoste, etc, Its safe and a comfortable visit.
Has lots of entertainment for children but it's mostly weekends. (Like a mini circus)
We had a good time and will return.Written 25 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The views are absolutely breathtaking, and the vibe? Just electric. Perfect spot for a stroll, a bike ride, or even just to sit and people-watch. If you're into sunsets, this is the place where your IG feed goes from "eh" to "YES." 😎 #SunsetGoals #PanamaCityVibes #CintaCosteraMagicWritten 4 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Daphne D10 contributionsThis was a great morning activity for our family. We went around 9am, and it took us 30 minutes each way. It is 1 mile each way. We did not get in a hurry at all, so you can definitely do it must faster. We loved the views of the city, canal, and Casco Viejo. Easy to get an Uber, just have them drop and pick you up at Mi Pueblita. Pathway is to the left.Written 19 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- Jeff SCleveland, OH106 contributionsThe architecture is very intriguing as you pass by, so a venture was in order to see more detail. It's truly a magnificent feat to see more of the features of this tall cathedral. Truly worth exploring and seeing.Written 6 July 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- minniemaeFlorida634 contributionsMy friend and I were crazy enough to walk the entire span of this bridge at high noon - it took us 15 to 20 minutes from beginning to end. The walkway was quite narrow & the center part of the bridge didn't have a guard rail to protect you from vehicle traffic... Thus, it was quite freaky when a big bus or truck would pass by (anxiety attack ensued). We were heckled, jeered, and cheered. A motorcycle cop passed by & met us at the foot of the bridge - nope, we weren't arrested.
During rush hour, the traffic is terrible! Stay away.Written 3 June 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - AndMHGilroy, CA267 contributionsIf you are interested in history, it's worth a trip. other than the cathedral tower it is a large area full of ruins. It was a moderate size town with 7 convents that all appeared large. The Museum is interesting, but mainly a reading one rather than one of many items. on display. It takes a while to get there (30 mins from Casco Antiqua) but only costs around $5 on Uber.Written 2 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - BrakiWorldTravelerBelgrade, Serbia19,724 contributionsThis neighborhood is not on the path of an ordinary tourist, it's out of the way and it's not of a significant importance in terms of historic sites and places to see.
We visited it accidentally when the tour van was dropping off other guests after the tour. Costa del Este is a new built area, with more high rises, further on east, after the historic Panama Vieja (see that review). New modern hotels, corporation towers and apartment blocks dominate this expensive area. It reminded me on Dubai Marina, a city outside the main city.Written 10 April 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The complex, crowned by an 18 m tall obelisk topped with a Gallic rooster, commemorates the French workers and designers involved in the construction of the Canal. A walkway provides stunning views of the ocean and the Casjo Viejo, Several vendor stalls provide opportunities to purchase hand made souvenirs at reasonable prices.Written 8 April 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
