- This was a wonderful tour & a great way to pass time during a 9 hour layover. My friend & I booked the 5 hour tour. We were picked up at the airport by our guide after giving them our flight info & time. We saw the Panama Canal and Casco Viejo, Panama City’s colonial quarter. We learned about Panama's history from our awesome & very knowledgeable tour guide, Roger, who is 61, but looked like he was in his thirties! He has a passion for sharing his knowledge of the history & was an excellent guide! He had us back to the airport right on time. Awesome experience & grateful that we were able to do this! - We went on the indigenous Embará community tour. our tour guide drove us an hour to the traditional dugout canoe boats which took us into the Chagres river and a small hike through the woods and to the traditional community where we learned about the tradition and the culture and the food of the Embará. we had lunch and the opportunity to buy some of the artisan beautiful crafts. Then the boat ride home and another hour long ride back to the hotel!
