Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- De La FranciaDuarte, CA53 contributionsI sent an email inquiry before booking but never received a response, which left me feeling a little iffy because that’s usually not a good sign. However, I still booked a round trip airport transfer because of the positive reviews and prices.
The email confirmation didn’t list a pick up time or any further details about how to find the driver. I emailed them from the confirmation and received a response. I ended up texting and calling from What’s App per the confirmation email instructions when I was there since we couldn’t locate the driver in both pickup/drop off. The driver was 20m late picking us up from our hotel to drop us off at the airport.
In the end, things came through but it definitely took effort on our part to confirm and get the info we needed for us to feel reassured.Written 6 April 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - lauchlieOakville, Canada15 contributionsThis tour was amazing! Joshua was so knowledgeable and told us so many interesting facts about whales. Having a zoologist as your guide is amazing! He had tools and tricks to share, like a microphone to listen to the whales sing, and a drone so he can tell us exactly what is happening from above. We saw at least 5 or 6 different pods of whales, humpbacks and sperm whales. We even saw some dolphins off in the distance. They served us lunch and snacks when we got to the beach and the food was amazing! Joshua served us himself, talk about making sure he took care of us. The beach on Isla Chapera was beautiful, with white sand and crystal clear water. The snorkelling was good, we saw lots of colourful fish and some coral reef. 100% recommend this tour, and we look forward to it again next year! Thanks Joshua!Written 16 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- sydpalmsteenAtlanta, GA12 contributionsMy husband and I took our nieces to Panama as a present for graduation. The girls had traveled some but had never been on an expedition like the one we had with Blue Adventures Panama. To be honest, neither had we although we sport fish every available time we travel. We requested Carlos give us a day that he would most enjoy for a day off the coast. We started on our way to the Northern Pearl Islands, stopping to troll and catch a bonita and a dorado. Then we graced one island where the blue footed boobie's hatch their young before traveling back to the Galápagos for their adult life. After a delectable serving of yogurt and granola on a beach line, we headed to some snorkeling...well, sort of. We actually detoured to a dealer reef so that Charlie (mate and Carlos's son) did some free diving for our pompano ceviche. He also speared a few rooster fish along the way for a special at their restaurant they recently opened (Maagoo's Tacos).
The second half of the day we traveled to a gorgeous cove for sandwiches and that delectable ceviche, along with a freshly chilled pineapple for desert. Everything we ate on our charter was hand prepared by Carlos and Charlie, as well as being eco-friendly to the waters of Panama. Carlos educated us on the fragility of the oceans and the coast of Panama. We saw first hand how the reefs are suffering from commercial fishing boats leaving remnants of their gear which kills helpless sea life. We were so thankful we had a crew that had such respect for their home. The honest and integrity of Blue Adventures Panama provided an experience of so much more than just a day on the water. Carlos and Charlie have a soul-driven passion for the sea which shines through in their work. We were thankful to be along for the ride.
Our day ended with "popcorn" manta rays jumping and frolicking out of the water as we glided across the water. Dolphins followed us along our route, blessing our day from below. Our nieces were in amazement of such a wonderful day and continued their thankfulness throughout the rest of our vacation. Making an impact on adults is a wonderful accomplishment. Impacting the soul of a young mind and spirit will impact a lifetime for those girls. Well done, Carlos and Charlie!!! Well done!
We ended our day with dinner at their restaurant, Maagoo's. Let's just say that if you miss Maagoo's, you miss the end product of the day we had. Maagoo's is there for all to experience whether or not they can book a day charter with Blue Adventures Panama. It is a MUST if you are in or around Panama!Written 20 June 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - florianmL6802POParis, France1 contributionSooooo relaxing! everything was perfect! the captain and the crew are adorable people. He brung us to the best places far from usual turists spots. The weather allowed us to use the sails on the way to go, we had to go back with the engine as there was no Wind. We saw dolphins swimming next to the boat, one of these magical moments where the time stops. I sincerely recommend the crew, oh and also food was amazing, fresh, many local fruits and vegetables and more than we coud eat in quantity.Written 22 March 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Ryan QAnn Arbor, MI20 contributionsThe day was great with Kevin. When the fish weren’t biting he was relentless in making sure we were able to catch something, ended up catching some trophy size Mackerel! He had a lot of information, was very safe, and made the day fun and comfortable! Kevin even arranged for a round trip private driver for cheap. I highly recommend and will return to this trip again. Thank you so much Kevin!Written 29 April 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Garrett20176Leesburg, VA5 contributionsHad a great day fishing w/ two friends on the Panama Bay. Rolando knows the Pearl Islands well. While we didn't catch a lot of fish, he put us in the right spots, with the right gear. His English is outstanding and he provided a lot of interesting information about the area throughout the trip. He also picked us up at the hotel and took us to his boat, and drove us back after the trip. He even made ceviche with some snapper and albacore we caught.Written 29 March 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
