Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

It may sound odd to say iot but my visit to this museum was actually better than the real thing. My trip to the Visitor Center was a letdown as it consisted of a film and a viewing platform at the Miraflores lock where I saw no ships. This museum is packed with information about all kinds of aspects of the canal with photographs, documents, maps, films, taped recollections. Definitely worth a visit.

Nice stop in the old city. The Golden covered wall is certainly unique. The back room has a MASSIVE nativity scene that is cool.

If you are interested in history, it's worth a trip. other than the cathedral tower it is a large area full of ruins. It was a moderate size town with 7 convents that all appeared large. The Museum is interesting, but mainly a reading one rather than one of many items. on display. It takes a while to get there (30 mins from Casco Antiqua) but only costs around $5 on Uber.

The area was transformed into a monument complex in 1920 and became known as the Plaza de Francia. The complex, crowned by an 18 m tall obelisk topped with a Gallic rooster, commemorates the French workers and designers involved in the construction of the Canal. A walkway provides stunning views of the ocean and the Casjo Viejo, Several vendor stalls provide opportunities to purchase hand made souvenirs at reasonable prices.

It's very confusing. This square is the main plaza in Casco Viejo. However it is also known as Plaza de la Catedral and Independence Square.

Visited here as part of my self-guided walking tour of Casco Viejo. Built in 1760, Casa Gongora is the best example of a Spanish colonial home in Casco Viejo. It is now a cultural center for local artists.
