Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.
Learn more about our review moderation.

What travellers are saying
- Kristina BJacksonville, FL46 contributionsI went on a girls trip to Panama in 2023 and my friends wanted to take a boat ride in the canal. I wasn't initially all that excited about it, but it was a pleasant surprise. I really enjoyed our boat ride and learning some of the history behind it. I also saw a few different species of monkeys, which was a highlight.Written 3 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Geo89_12Romeoville, IL509 contributionsWe took an evening stroll along the waterfront every evening, great place to take in the beauty of Panama. They also have dedicated bike paths for those who ride bikes.Written 13 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - lucycanSan Diego, CA3,619 contributionsThis is at the tip of the old city, near the French embassy. There are vendors selling all kinds of good stuff along the way. The best part, however, is the views of the city. Best in town.Written 5 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Sue MWilliamsburg, VA1,535 contributionsThe Cathedral and Panama museum border this central plaza. There's a gazebo in the center of the square and the buildings surrounding the plaza are architecturally interesting.Written 7 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Kim GPacific Grove, CA3,750 contributionsPlaza de San Francisco was rededicated in 1883 to honor Venezuelan General Simon Bolivar. General Bolivar, is also known as the “Liberator of Latin America”. This lovely square is surrounded by grand historical, architectural buildings with a large bronze monument highlighting its center. Located in the UNESCO designated Casco Viejo, it is worth wandering this small enclave for a visit.Written 30 April 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - The Weak Knee TravelerSingapore, Singapore12,833 contributionsNot a big place. You can find exhibits from traditional clothings for women and men here. Also traditional wedding dresses and the prices of these traditional clothes are more expensive than I expected. There are also some accessories on display. Nothing much else here so visit only if you have the time.Written 5 June 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Sue MWilliamsburg, VA1,535 contributionsIt's confusing but the signs indicate that this is the Plaza de la Catedral. The Cathedral borders this square. Apparently the locals prefer to call it Independence Square.Written 7 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - ZetaksBocas del Toro Province, Panama194 contributionsThe temple is worth a quick visit, beautiful external structure (although some paint is required for enhancing its beauty). Don't be shy or ashamed to go inside, just make sure you leave your shoes/slippers outside. Take the time to watch at the deities exhibited. Take a walk all around the external part of the building.Written 19 September 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - TravelingSoccerLoonSaint Paul, MN5,970 contributionsLocated at the charming Plaza Bolivar. Must history in this building including the 1826 congress organized by Simon Bolivar to discuss unification of Colombia, Mexico and Central America. - Starla343 contributionsIt is long n worth the walk. Got most my bras from a store very close to titans....was the most variety for my size...I wear 36dd. There are like 3 clothing stores b4 titans...really worth going to...most reviews online said to expect characters....everyone was friendly...but I did try to fit in as much as possible...dressing like I lived there and not speaking unless necessary...as i didn't know much Spanish...enjoyed the trip !Written 31 December 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Adrienne SDurham, NC136 contributionsI'm not generally a fan of touring cathedrals, but I was taken to this cathedral as part of a Spanish lesson. You must ask permission to go into the back room where the diorama is kept. It' s a large display about the various stories in the life of Christ. If you are already in Casco Viejo, this display is worth a look, and it's totally free.Written 27 May 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
