Beginning with a powerful tour in the historical district of San Salvador, we witnessed a wall of all the casualties of the civil war that ravaged the country for over a decade. That decade ended just over 30 years ago.

After that powerful experience, we strolled through the center to see the beautiful government buildings and the Iglesia del Rosario.

Next, we drove to breathtaking views at the Boqueron national park. The experiences also afforded us a short walk to stretch our legs. Finally, we concluded our day at the infamous rainbow slide.

This tour was amazing!! My guide was Josué and he did such a great job. He was very informative and has such a lively personality. When he tells you that he’s going to take your pictures, trust him! He takes the best 😁😁 You can tell he enjoys his job and cares for the country. The hike was great. You don’t necessarily need to be in shape but it does help. Lunch at the lake after was the perfect ending.

We had an awesome time with David! We also had a really fun and easy-going group that was willing to try new things and had open minds to experience the culture of this beautiful country. You could be very adventurous on the trip and do the zip line, crazy swings at the cafe or just do the slide (which was exhilarating) and drink beer like we did. Ataco was great way to observe the daily life that many people experience in this country. We had interesting and delicious fruits sold by street stall vendors, great coffee at the cat cafe with a beautiful garden and a “loca papusa” with a great mural view. The hot springs were similar to ones we’ve been to in Costa Rica, but involved a mud cleanse and offered a relaxed place to eat and watch people. David was the guide you always hope you get. He adapted the tour to our desires, made you feel comfortable and made us laugh. Thank you! Amazing tour!

Wonderful day exploring El Salvador’s Mayan ruins. Had to get an early start due to my ships early departure, so my guide Rafael drove me to Volcan de Santa Ana to see an incredible lake and wonderful views of Volcan Izalco before heading to Tazumal. Rafael was very knowledgeable about the Mayan ruins and provided great insight into the historical and archaeological sites. The highlight of the tour was Joya de Ceren. El Salvador is a beautiful country and Rafael’s pride was evident and infectious. Highly recommend Eco Tours Petate

We had a wonderful tour over 2 days. Our guide was Jocelyn and driver Evan.
First let me say that Jocelyns English is spectacular. She's knowledgeable and informative. And she has a wonderful sense of humor. She takes great pride in her country and history.
On our 2nd day, my husband had an accident and was injured. Jocelyn and Evan found us an ambulance and hospital. They never left our side.
These 2 took amazing care of us to ensure my husband received the medical care he needed while maintaining a cool level head. I am so grateful for them. Thank you both. We are friends 🧡 for life.
EC worked directly with us to ensure we saw exactly what was on our list and provided intentional professional guidance. I highly recommend them to guide you. Please ask for Jocelyn by name. She's worth it! And Even is a skilled and careful driver who will make sure you are transported safely.
    Thank you all so much.

On the long and thorough excursion through El Salvador’s gems, you really get value for both your time and dollar. Seeing several of the small towns in the Ruta de Las Flores provides insight into the way of life in small town/rural El Salvador.

My favorite experience may have been the stop at the coffee plantation, as the tour guide illustrates the process of coffee production from bean to bag to your morning cup.

While the hot springs portion is a pleasant end to the day, I felt like I obtained more of a Salvadorian feel from the earlier parts.
