BunkArt 1 Tirana
It is one of the absolutely best historical museums I have seen anywhere.
Totally different to the usual run of churches and museums.
Located within the grounds of the Berat Fortress, this museum contains some lovely examples of religious icons from the churches surrounding Berat.
Very nice historical Greek museum inside a Greek church ... it has monuments from 1400 before the Turks took the town ... you will find Greek signs everywhere in the church and also int village inside the castle .

BunKart 2 Tirana
The photos posted by others seem to be a mix of the two different bunker museums; i wish now we had had time to see the second one on the outskirts of Tirana.
I really enjoyed my visit, I think they did an amazing job putting this museum together and I highly recommend everyone in the Tirana to visit.
Gjirokaster Castle Gjirokaster
The museums excellent with English translations and gives a fascinating insight into the areas history.
Two very interesting museums at an extra charge, one about all the war weapons but the other (new) one about all the history of occupation of Albania - very well presented

Stunning iconography and architecture in this little gem - church and museum attached.
The museum is rather meandering but the furnishings are authentic and the history behind the house and its inhabitants was very interesting, especially for an outsider.

Skanderbeg Museum is on of the best museums in Albania.
However this period in Albanian history is well explained and the museum is beautiful and spotlessly clean with a fabulous view just below the castle.

This is one of 2 museums dedicated in Albania to icon paintings from Orthodox churches across the country.
The museum recently moved to a brand new building and it's a perfect way to appreciate this amazing collection of icons.
As for the collections and displays, while they are hardly up to the level of great museums in places such as Britain, Turkey, etc., they are significant and interesting, covering the range of Albanian history and...

While most museums have an exhausting amount of exhibits, the Durres Archeological Museum was just right for us.
The lady on the desk was knowledgeable and informative, the museum is over one floor at the moment, there is certainly plenty to see and there are explanations in English.

The State Security Museum is the latest in a series of highly successful historical state museums.
House of Leaves is one of the the most intriguing museums I've ever visited.
The teqe is so beautiful and the museum very interesting ( mostly in Albanian and English).
The museum is unfortunately mostly in Albanian but it's free and you can visit the graves 'Turba' of ancient cleric of the order.
Shkodra advertises 2 museums in the Bradt Guide - the Historical Museum which is set in a beautiful old Ottoman House but is very small and the new Marubi Photographic Museum based on the early local photographer.
Small but significant museum dedicated to the memory of 50 years of Albanian Communism genocide.
Ethnographic Museum Gjirokaster
This museum is well worth a visit as a traditional middle class, Ottoman-style house, filled with exhibits of how such a family lived, and as the birthplace of former Albanian dictator Enver Hoxha.
This charming museum displays traditional room settings and artefacts, and is a lovely place to visit.
Impressive! Highly recommended museum of a key element of Albanian history
Superb Museum for the secret service
This beautiful Ottoman house is the venue for this lovely, small museum, which provides an overview of the visual arts, historic artifacts, and ethnology of the area.
The museum is on two floors, it houses a lovely display of local costumes, art and artefacts.
The National Education Museum in Korce, Albania, used to be the first Albanian school starting to work since 1878 which nowadays it became a national museum.
This is not a big museum , displays are not brilliant and has odd opening times, but if you are interested in social history, do visit
Sarande Museum Saranda
Just a bit over 100 meters down the street, passing the Post Office, we found the open door to their small free Archaeological Museum, completely dominated by a huge floor mosaic.
There is a museum at the top in the Ottoman fort to finish off with.
Nice objects to see and explore.A special museum in a small and nice city, and also a unique museum for the region.
Korça is so oxidental, but the Museum of Oriental Art is a very interesting place to visit. There are a lot of oriental pieces of art collected by a famous army reporter and photografer,Dhimiter Borja. The museum is...
