The guide walks you through a recreated village explaining the culture. The fish and chicken is cooked in a traditional earth oven.. fantastic food!! Beautiful scenery and loved the exotic range of orchids.
Recommend taking some mosquito repellent if you are prone to mozzie bites.
Definitely worth the trek.Written 1 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The boat ride was fun. 90 mins, lots of shade, great music entertainment, funny staff. The island was absolutely gorgeous. Aqua waters, white sand, good snorkelling. Lunch was tasty and there was plenty and a good variety. They also have lots of shade, proper bathrooms and several ways to entertain yourself. The only thing that I would recommend is a bar with real fruit juices. The staff were really friendly and made the trip extra fun.Written 12 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Yiken YMelbourne, Australia4 contributionsHad round trip airport tours booked through Marriott with Fiji golf tours and transfers. Great communication, ahead of schedule, super clean cars, highly recommend.
My first time in Fiji so was a little apprehensive as some of the other companies have bad reviews. Rakesh and his family run a very good service.Written 8 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews. - mrc282World9,628 contributionsthe drive from nadi to lautoka to ba to navala will take you approximately 2.5h, one way. make sure you drive during daylight hours.
the final stretch (18 km, 45-60 min) leading to navala village consists of dirt, gravel, 3-4 wooden bridges, 3-4 concrete bridges, and brief respite of tar (at steep inclines). therefore, it is entirely possible to drive the entire route (nadi to lautoka to ba to navala) with a 2wd sedan during dry season.
during rainy season, the river may overflow and flood the concrete bridge. i would recommend coming with a high clearance vehicle. as the road may also turn into a mud soup if extreme rain.
i visited in mid-october which is the transitory period, but it was raining for 2 days before i got there. the soil is still quite compact so there was never any risk of being stuck even though i had a high clearance AWD
village entrance fee 25 FJD, guide fee 20 FJD. just to manage your expectations, i dont find navala village remote or resembling the "last fiji village". power lines are everywhers, and the "last village" are interspersed with modern housingWritten 16 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Renée16 contributionsIt was definitely an interesting trip to the market and one worth doing.
The prices of the fruit were a dream and delicious!
What I would say as a tourist, is to be on your A game. We were very naive! There are a few sharks out there, and they are very clever at drawing you away to shops for a kava ceremony and to buy their local goods.
Don't afraid to be very firm and say no thankyou.

But we set on a cross country journey with my dad. Went through the Sigatoka Valley Road and came right from the Nausori Highlands Road. This is the road least traveled with no road signs hence recommended for 4 wheel drives. You just have to trust your navigation skills as the area does not have network at places and the villages are located were far away. We did had to stop and ask for directions in few villages. But it all was all worth it. The view from the Nausori highland is worth the travel. We spotted out 2 or 3 waterfalls but they were quite off the road. Be ware of the wild horses that just run upon seeing the vehicle. Worth a trip to see the interior of Vitilevu.Written 10 June 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Tamani RaramaSuva, Fiji23 contributionsSigavou studio was an EXTRAORDINARY experience. The trip to this art sancuatry just blew us off with its magic, and this was woven with so much fun, curiosity, hope, inspiration, care, and boundless creativity. The 50+ members from the Pacific Climate Warriors were amazed by the level of dedication, expertise, and care taken to engage a group of young people to engage in art in such a short span of time. Maraia, Mereia, Masi and the team were so helpful in guiding many of us who weren't so familiar with painting and, in we went into the whole process of coloring, color mixing, shading and more. The outcome was definitely beyond what we expected, and I would pay twice for every dollar that was invested into this whole activity if given the opportunity and resources. The kids and youths took with them home something that represented a voice, a story, and an experience that they will cherish forever, and for that, we are forever grateful 🙏. I'm definitely marketing this space and work for others to experience what we did. Thank you again to the SIGAVOU Studio crew and sota tale!Written 27 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
