Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

It truly is an idyllic setting with it's amazing colours that looking better than an pool colour we've ever seen. The people are amazing. They are genuinely happy and show it throughout the day.
We began meeting our tour guide Ally, who is a Aikutaki treasure, stopping along the tour route to give shoutouts to local residents. The boat trip throughout the 15 islands with numerous stoos along the way for swimming, snorkeling and a BBQ lunch onboard. The crew, guide and captain performed and entertained us playing ukelele, drums and singing along the trip.
This is truly the best day we had in the Cook Island's, a must do.

My Uncle & I visited the Cook Islands for the first time, we took the Aitutaki Day Tour from Rarotonga, the day trip was organised by Air Rarotonga and the Vaka Cruise company. The entire day trip was very well executed, from the 7.15am pick-up from our resort in Rarotonga, to the checking-in for the 45-minute domestic flight to Aitutaki, to the Aitutaki Island tour and the Vaka cruise trip in the Aitutaki Lagoon. One Foot Island was the last stop of the day for our day trip and it was DEFINITELY the highlight of our day trip. The beach here is by far the most beautiful beach in the Cook Islands and in the South Pacific Ocean, on par with the beaches of Bora Bora in French Polynesia! The turquoise colour of the lagoon and the palm-fringed beach makes for postcard-perfect pictures for your Facebook and Instagram accounts! Please forgive me, but I have to admit that the beaches around Rarotonga are dreadful, compared to the beach of One Foot Island. Come here and see it for yourself.

INTERESTING TIP: There is a post office on One Foot Island that will stamp your passports with a very unique stamp for NZD2 each. However, if you are taking the Aitutaki Day Tour, the captain of the Vaka Cruise will stamp your passports with the same stamp for FREE! Therefore, please remember to bring your passports along if you are going for the day trip with the Vaka Cruise company.

My teens and I wasn’t expecting much but we spent quite a lot of time here. It was cool in the shade of the trees and we enjoyed seeing how many similar plants we had at home but in much smaller unhealthy versions compared to here. Very beautifully cared for and maintained with a lovely cafe onsite also.

Beautiful, turquoise waters greet you. No waves in the lagoon so safe for kids to swim in. The water is warm. Plenty of shading from trees around the lagoon.

Great place for snorkeling. We saw heaps of fish including some moray eels and puffer fish. Very safe and calm within the reef.

We loved our time here - lots to look at and food to try. We got smoothies that were $15each though and I nearly fell over at the price as I wasn’t paying attention. Sadly they weren’t great either. Other than that the shops were great and everyone very friendly - definitely worth a visit. I actually held off buying much as it was our first day so I thought I’d find things throughout my trip but the best of it was definitely at these markets.

I went on a Wednesday night where it’s not too busy like Sunday. Plenty of space to sit and my dinner was scrumptious. I had creamy garlic prawns on rice and bought 2 raro donuts to help finish off a really creamy meal. Overall it was a good experience and had the most expensive smoothie I’ve ever had but I was on holiday, so that’s why alright.

Was fortunate enough to visit Sunday service when travelling choral groups from outer islands were also visiting. The singing and indeed the whole service is a must do when visiting the Cook Islands!

Hands down the best snorkelling in rarotonga. Do the passages as well to see the turtles and this for sure to see purple coral and tons of fish off every different species

Although not a long walk, it's challenging. The track is rough with a lot of steep up and downs and some clambering over tree roots.

We did it after it had been raining, so the track was muddy and slippery. I definitely wouldn't do the walk in the rain, and whether the track is dry or wet, make sure you have decent footwear.

It will take about 2 1/2 to 3 hours (car park to car park) so take plenty of water (suggest 1 litre per person) and some food.

Do not do the walk alone. In case of injury (e.g. sprained ankle) you need a partner to organise help (there's no cell phone coverage).

All that said, there are some beautiful views and scenic spots along the walk, and when you finish, it's an awesome sense of achievement.

An enriching experience to learn about the history of the Cook Islands and perfect for solo travellers, duo’s and even families. Would recommend if you want a break away from the hot sun or good rainy day activity.
