This tour is the perfect introduction to Iquitos. Kelwin picked us up at our hotel and we walked to the Belen market. We tried grilled grubs, sapote , passion fruit, freshly rolled Peruvian cigars and camu camu. The market is a cacophony of colors, smells and sounds. It gives you a peek into the daily lives of the people of Iquitos.

We then took a wooden skiff up the river past the floating city where Kelwin lived the majority of his life. We watched people working and children swimming at the riverside. We then went to the medicinal market to look at the various Amazonian remedies and bought a few bracelets to ward off evil spirits.

We then picked up 2 tuk-tuks to take us to a different covered boat to see the confluence of the Amazon with the Itaya and watched some dolphins from the boat on our way.

Kelwin is an excellent guide, giving you a glimpse into the daily hustle and bustle of Iquitos. Viewing the city from the water, walking its alleyways and speeding down its streets in a tuk-tuk. He also gave us some great local dining recommendations after the tour was over.

Excellent way to see a fascinating market. Our guide was professional and knowledgeable. It would be very hard to appreciate and understand the market given the scale without a guide.

So good! Alan was our guide and was lovely company as well as really knowledgeable about all the amazing animals and plants we saw.
We fished for, and ate that night, fresh piranha. Spotted grey and pink dolphins, saw sloths, tarantulas and monkeys. Paddled past lily pads 2 metres across and saw many rare birds. Jungle camp was safe and comfortable, huge fresh meals. Unforgettable.

Our expedition to the Amazon jungle was an incredible journey. From visiting the monkey reserve to embarking on walking tours in the forest, every moment was filled with excitement and wonder.

Exploring the jungle on foot allowed us to discover lots of unique plants and wildlife, from colorful birds to elusive monkeys swinging through the trees. Piraña fishing added an exhilarating twist to our adventure, as we tested our skills against these feisty creatures in our daily canoa 🛶 trips.

One of the highlights of our trip was visiting the Boras village, where we were warmly welcomed by the indigenous community. Learning about their culture and way of life was a humbling experience that left a lasting impression on us.

Throughout our journey, our guides ensured our safety while also instilling a sense of responsibility towards the environment. Their passion for conservation was evident in every aspect of the trip, from minimizing our impact on the jungle to educating us about sustainable practices.

We had so much fun exploring the jungle! Every day was different, and we saw lots of cool animals and beautiful trees 🌴birds and Amazonic Plants 🌱

I highly recommend this trip to anyone who wants to have a fantastic adventure in the Amazon!

I had an amazing time with Lupuna Jungle Tours. Our guide, Job, was truly fantastic. He is highly knowledgeable, speaks English, and is very respectful. We saw so many wild animals including 4 types of monkeys, river dolphins, sloths, snakes, many cool insects, birds, frogs and more. This is the best way to experience the Amazon! We got to go fishing for piranhas, go camping, go on multiple hikes, try local foods and so much more. The lodging was very comfortable and the food was tasty. I am a vegetarian and they were very accomodating. I always felt safe. I would highly recommend this company to a friend.

I have done many various expeditions in different outdoor conditions and very remote areas, so I did not have much expectations other then logistics, and organization, but I have found out that Hector (with his Matses team) is a true professional with really serious experiences in jungle. No matter for which trip one would like to go with him, I would not have a single concern about anything. He is responsible and very reliable about just anything you agree about or discuss together. Definitely would like to plan more trips with Hector and his crew, with even much less or none of the "touristic" kind of services, as I feel fully confident about what to expect from his planning, organization and logistic. He even helped us a lot to sort sort out other things and problems we faced outside of our program. Hector, big thanks for all my group and hope to plan and do again with you some other serious things in the future :-)

A whirlwind 3-day tour to experience what the Amazon jungle has to offer in just three short days. We had an amazing time during this adventure. They kept us busy with activities before, in between and after meal times. This tour was definitely a highlight of our Peruvian adventure. Loved the dolphin-finding-mission, jungle walks, piranha-fishing, star gazing, bird watching and much more! Meals were interesting with many different types of fruit juices I have never seen anywhere else. Rooms were comfortable and swimming pool was a very welcome cooling-down mechanism.

Good visit to Amazon. Seeing jaguar was highlight for me. The tourist infrastructure in Iquitos is not as well developed as perhaps in Brazil, so there is a sense that some of the attractions and boat are a bit run down for the price charged

I reached out to Ruth last minute about a camping / adventure tour, and she helped set me up with an existing group, purchase clothing needed and get ready for the trip. Roger (mainly spanish but some english) our guide was fantastic and kept cool during heavy rains and other tricky situations.

We saw a caiman, snakes, monkeys, tarantulas, sloths, dolphins, piranhas, frogs, butterflies, dragonflies, and lots of birds.

Bring bug spray, snacks, wipes, and a light towel, it’ll be damp/mucky in the forest but otherwise a great time!
