Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Beautiful clear water and fish. The entry is best done without flippers but once you’re in the snorkelling is fantastic. There’s a lovely divergent current between the cool and warm water.

Absolutely loved the snorkelling here, great for families as most parts were waist deep. Beware of deeper part though. Thrilled to swim with Nemo and Dory! These pools are where I felt the safest ( not a strong swimmer) The water in Niue also makes you float very easily. No need to kick your legs, just float along looking at the wonderful variety of tropical fish. Like most swimming holes, lots of steps down to the pools! Well worth it though!

Spent a wonderful week in paradise! Made a great decision to stay above these fantastic caves at the Anaiki Motels. Walked down through the caves the night we arrived (with torches) at low tide and I feel the night experience was just as good as the day! Lovely pools in the cave to the right of the walkway. Plenty of fish. Under water camera was great in Niue. This is a must do! You won’t be disappointed!

Definitely a must visit location but not for the faint hearted. After walking through the forest you end up in the open with crazy pinnacle formations. The track ends with a ladder taking you down to a sandy enclosure. Exploring the rocks to the front heads to the sea but be aware in swells, the rocks to the back lead to another smaller oasis.

Really really wanted this photo, so the long walk in, through a real cave and basically absailling with a thick rope down the rock, just had to be done! (May have slightly dramatised it) they say allow 2 hours and they mean it! The walk in alone is hard work as you are needing to watch for bits of coral sticking up, climbing over it etc. But once there, it’s a great photo! Not for the faint hearted!

... sandy patches all gone ... down to bare rock ... access only for the agile ... snorkelling still an option though ... the stark beauty of this place lives on

Great video to watch upon arrival to this lovely little museum. Very old video but very informative about Niue’s past. A $10 charge per person. Plenty of things to look at and a great new building to house them.

Short walk from the road to this small beach area (one of the very few beaches in Nuie). Enjoyable reef walk around with plenty of small schools of blue fish and sea cucumbers)

It is a small but, beautiful island where Captain James Cook decided to land in 1774. There is a sign to mark the spot and you can walk down to see the beach where is was supposed to have actually touched land. Very historical here.

We went during heavy downfall of rain and it was the best choice as it was dry inside and the rock formations and sea life within the wee pools in the cave were fascinating!

Some interesting history at this site. Great lookout over the west coast and the wharf (particularly when the container ship is in).

Go and grab a smoothy over the road and sit here and watch the world go by.

When in Nuie one thing I wanted to do was to experience a church service. We chose the Ekalesia Church, for no particular reason: perhaps we were simply meant to go there. The pride taken in this building and its congregation was clear to see. And to hear those male voices soar so high was remarkable. An absolutely uplifting and invigorating service.

I made an early start (4am from Scenic Matavai) to ensure I would be there in time to watch the sunrise through the entrance to the cave.

We had gone to check it out the day before - just to see how difficult it would be to get there. Would suggest taking a torch with you if you are going to see sunrise.

The end of the road into it is Very steep - but there are a couple of places where you can pull off and leave the car (just watch out for coconut trees above). If you don't want to take the car down, it's only about a 20min walk.

If the tide is out you can get right out on the reef - it's lovely.

    Well worth the effort!

We managed to see the sign as we passed so where able to have a wee look round at this park. I probably wouldn't make a special trip to go there but is actually quite interesting to see what materials have been used. I can envisage it getting bigger!
If you see it, stop and have a look!
