Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We did a half day plus Kazakhstan National Museum tour with Didara and had a wonderful time. Didara was knowledgeable and passionate about the history of the country and about life there today. As a first time visitor to Kazakhstan, she was such a a wonderful person to help us gain an understanding of the country. Her and our driver were on time and reliable too!

Our tour guide Damir was great and lunch was excellent. About the tour structure, I think there are a few things that could be left out and some other things added. For example we spent a lot of time in the national museum and I would have rather seen the Hazrat Sultan Mosque instead. But I guess it all depends what you are into. The city is not walkable at all so definitely need a driver. Also one last little recommendation is that I would have liked to have learned more about the history of Astana and Kazakhstan. Overall good though. Thanks Damir.

I’ll start off with my rocky start with a taxi driver scamming me even with knowing how much the average cost of a ride from the airport to my apartment would’ve been by using Yandex.Taxi and inDriver (the latter let’s you test before using) so what should’ve been a 500 Tenge ride on average at that time of night soon turned into 30,000 tenge. I said fine only because the taxi driver had said 5000 tenge and after flying for two days straight (time zones included) I just wanted to sleep in my apartment. However the taxi had someone follow us to make sure I paid more.

However after my first few nights of talking to the locals and sight seeing I met one of Zhanel’s friends who introduced me to her. From the start she was very helpful and even helped me with the police about the taxi driver, I eventually got my money back due to Zhanel helping me.

Zhanel has been very helpful and informative of the region and knows her stuff and history of the area. I had told her about wanting to visit Alzhir and she offered to take me there and give a history on the memorial.

If you wish to have professional service, helpful and courteous people, but even people who you will for sure become friends with. I will definitely recommend coming back to Kazakhstan in general, but also to use this service ))

As the city of Nur-Sultan / Astana is not very easy for an independent traveller, I decided to book this tour. It was effortless and super interesting. My guide Amandyk was very knowledgable and nice. He not only showed me the main sights but also explained the history and current affairs of Kazakhstan. Totally recommended!

We booked the 3 hour tour with the team plus the transfers from and to the airport. The service was AWESOME, they were super attentive and the whole experience was very smooth. They even helped us coordinate with our accommodation! The tour itself was very interesting. Didara was our guide and shared with us a lot of info on the country and the city from the point of view of a historian, which was very enriching. She even explained us part of her current research about the past of the city. If you are planning to visit the city soon, do not hesitate and book a tour with them, you will not regret it!

If you are going to do one tour in Astana, choose this one! We were a family of 4 (2 adults and 2 kids aged 8 and 10) and we all agree that this trip was the highlight of our trip and absolutely unforgettable. The kids loved the archery and the horse riding the best, my husband loved the eagle and I loved the food. We also watched some videos of eagle hunting which were so interesting. All of us thought the guide, driver and the family were warm and friendly and we felt welcome immediately. It was a great insight into traditional Kazakh life and we learned so much, thank you!

We were very lucky to have Didara as our guide!
As a historian, she knows almost everything about the city, the culture and the country. We also had the opportunity to talk about political and social issues. As Didara also showed interest in our lives, it was possible to discuss similarities and differences.
Finally, Didara unscheduledly showed us the bazaar and helped us with our onward journey.

My tour started off great. Two young men served as my guides, and they drove me to the location. We reached the peak and enjoyed the views for quite some time. The hike was quite difficult for me, but the guides were incredibly helpful in assisting me up there. I have a soft spot for young people who do their best, so we talked a lot, and the guides were very enthusiastic to share about their culture.

Overall, I enjoyed the trip, and the guys took care of me for the whole day. However, the reason for my 1/5 rating is this. I was appalled to find out how little those young men were paid, given how much I was charged for the tour. They spent their entire day with me and received only a tiny fraction of what I had paid. I ended up giving them tips because I always try to support hard-working young people. It's outrageous and left me feeling disappointed.
