Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- Massi400Rome, Italy146 contributionsBuddhist temple with a huge Buddha statue inside erected in 1972. Located about 14 km from Chaweng. Free Entrance. - Steve RBolton, UK519 contributionsAnother beautiful Thai temple in Koh Samui. Very peaceful and inspiring place to visit and contemplate the world. Koi ponds and gardens are overlooked by giant buddha statues and pagodas.Written 5 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Katrina S7 contributionsUp in the quiet rainforest hills, the secret garden is a must visit. Stunning traditional Thai statues, little grottos. Lots if stairs and wonky steps to clamber over.Written 26 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- AngloItalian78Aylesbury, UK435 contributionsWell, outside of the Egyptian museums, I have never seen a mummified body before, and certainly not one that is only 49 years old! 2023 will be the 50th anniversary of the death of this monk, and it's certainly a unique experience!
I wouldn't say that it's an attraction you'd take your children to, but as an adult, I certainly had a morbid curiosity to see what all the fuss was about...the sunglasses are apparently there not to make the monk cool, but rather to cover up the fact that his eyes have obviously disintegrated!
There were some interesting "games" you could play while there, and some words of wisdom to discover as well as other artefacts.
It won't be a long stop here, but it's certainly something you should see while you're on Koh Samui.Written 10 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Lenka M.16 contributionsA small but interesting (very different from the Thai ones) temple. When visited during dusk, the service man there lights dragon statue eyes. Very atmospheric.Written 18 January 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- BaanKo Samui, Thailand41 contributionsOff-beaten track pagoda on the beach.
Very popular with local people. Not a touristic place. GenuineWritten 13 April 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Koh Samui is no different.
Also sites are a but further apart which requires bike or car rental.. but still equally impressive.
Do your homework on hotels and resorts.. as they might be needing a soft /hard refurb at this stage of the pandemic.
Overall a great experience for families.Written 23 April 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Up at 4.30am bed time at 9pm, 6.5 hours meditation, Dharma talks, simple but delicious vegetarian food amazing teachers and a serious air of people looking for a new path forward or a deeper understanding of Buddhism or meditation. The teachers Rinehart and Pierre lead the group in daily activities in a beautiful setting high up in the mountains of koh samui, candle light starts and finishes the day in a simple spiritual manner. Excellent for the soul regardless of your beliefs.
The course i did is course 1 and it comes highly recommended if you wish to step onto this path. All sympathy is shown and teachers lead the way showing how it is done.Written 18 August 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Lia Gsanta monica9 contributionsThe Koh Samui Meditation Center is a must visit place. Their evening guided meditation sessions are absolutely amazing. There is enough information to understand and be comfortable for a beginner and for someone who has been actively practicing mediation for a while.
Before visiting the center, I meditated only for 10 - 15 minutes a day and always felt an urge to finish my practice. However, after my 50 minute meditation @Koh Samui Center, I could not believe that the time flew by so quickly. I feel that the techniques that I have learned there will help me to improve my ability to focus and extend the practice time even more.Written 25 February 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Mark WilliamBangkok, Thailand49 contributionsI went here during covid and had the place to myself all day. The hike is pretty good. Takes around 30 minutes of you have a decent pace but like all hikes in Thailand it gets hot so bring plenty water and your swimming gear!
The waterfalls were pretty good and the pools nice and cool for swimming. Explore the whole area and enjoy some climbing!Written 2 July 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
