The camel ride offered a peaceful counterpoint, a gentle sway through the landscape. The Berber dinner was a feast for the senses, and the cultural show was captivating. Our guide OTHMAN was ❤

We were picked up on time and whisked away to a Berber house with tent type exclosure for mint tea. We were offered a drone filmed personal video for 400 dirham which we declined - no pressure sell. It was still dark and quite cold but we warmed ourselves around the fire camp while we waited for a few minutes while people refreshed themselves before heading off to our balloon. We meandered through the desert passing many balloons and eventually arrived. After negotiating the difficult climb into the basket (they do have steps to help) the pilot introduced himself and explained about what lay ahead. He was so friendly and with good humour. We took off and soon after pilot told us sun was about to rise over the Atlas Mountains. He turned the balloon a full 360 so that everyone got great photos/video - unforgettable. And To see all the Berber villages from above and all the other balloons in sky was magnificent. After approximately 40 minutes we started to descend and pilot explained the landing procedure. This was exhilarating as many men on the ground grabbed the basket to stop it, including tying it to a jeep! A truly spectacular experience is an understatement. We were then taken by transport back for Berber breakfast with mint tea. I was not expecting much but it surpassed my expectations - a lovely selection of breads, pancakes, fruit, honey and oil. Wonderful. I highly recommend this trip

Overall the trip was great! Our guide was Esis and our driver was Hicham and they were excellent! Very accommodating, knowledgeable, and entertaining! The world heritage site, Ait Ben Haddou, was cool, and the sight was nice to behold, both leading up to it, and was also good after climbing to the top. Toudra Gorge sights were incredible!

The Berbr desert camp experience was fun; the camel ride was strategically timed for sunset going into the camp, and for sunrise when we returned back. Fun experience, beautiful pictures!

Wow. Just wow. This was the best experience and we’re so glad we chose a smaller group. The whole team’s professionalism was outstanding. Our pilot Mostapha was fantastic. Our driver made sure we were in the right balloon. The guys helping with take off and landing were really clear about safety. Pick up arrangements were efficient and clear. And our breakfast was really good.

I really can’t rate this trip highly enough. Thank you everyone. This was the highlight of our holiday.

What an amazing experience from start to finish!!

We were picked up at 7.30am by our guide Ismail, who has to be the most energetic person I have ever met — especially at that time of the morning. He was full of chat, questions and information from the get go.

We picked up two other couples, and off we went to our first stop — an argan women’s co-op, where we had a lovely Moroccan breakfast of homemade breads, olive oil, honey, amlou and of course tea.

The women from the co-op then explained how they use argan and its benefits for both food and cosmetics.

Our next stop was Ourika Valley for some Moroccan coffee beside the river. This was a lovely chilled experience, and the group were able to unwind and get to know one another.

Ismail was a brilliant guide and he stopped many times along the journey to allow us to take pictures of the beautiful surroundings. He gave us so much information, not only local knowledge and about Morocco, but also knew so much random trivia. One thing that shines through about Ismail is his kindness. He made sure to have lollipops with him to give out along the drive to local children — they all knew him and gave him their requests of colouring books for the next time he was passing.

We stopped in Tizaoute in the Atlas Mountains for a hike with local guide Yassine. Yassine explained the area to us, and how the local Berber families live. He even brought us to visit a local Berber house to give us more of an insight. We hiked with Yassine for over an hour and a half, and worked up a hunger for our lunch.

When we reached Tamessoulte, we were greeted by Khadija and her family for a Berber style lunch. The food was absolutely incredible (soup, salad, chicken tagine and couscous, and fruit for dessert). The view from Khadija’s rooftop was even better. Such a lovely afternoon spent here.

We then travelled back through the valleys to Marrakech, stopping on the way back for a photo of Mt. Toukal — Northern Africa’s highest point.

This has got to be one of the best day trips I have ever done. Thank you so much to Ismail for everything. Such a beautiful day getting to learn more about the Moroccan way of life.

The trip was good planed. Our guide was professional and polity. If you like calm down with other people this is for you. On winter time take enough clothes with you; evenings and mornings are cold.

Good communication before and during visit. Everything ran to time - driver and guide pleasant, knowledgeable and helpful. Vehicle comfortable. Programme for the day works well with a mix of culture and leisure. Casablanca and all we saw on the trip was beautiful. Mosque incredible. Lovely beach with upmarket cafes and restaurants and a new high end shopping mall along the seafront. So much for such a small price you pay for the journey and guide. Simo (guide) and Zinbi (driver) were fantastic. Thank you!

We had a great time on this tour! 100% worth the price, we would recommend it to friends. Our guide Hamil did his best to make sure everyone was comfortable and happy, and our driver was very reliable and safe.

We visited many different sites during the two days it took to reach Merzouga, and the schedule for each day was always clearly communicated. There was plenty of time at each stop to relax along the way.

Accommodation in both the kasbah and the tent were comfortable, and the food was good and always more than enough. We also stopped multiple times at places you could stock up on snacks and water.

    Some tips:
Bring whatever you need to be comfortable in the van for multiple travel hour per day, especially the last day (600km). A few hours are through the Atlas mountains and the road is winding.

Bring thermal pyjamas for the desert camp!! We also recommend traveling to camp by camel instead of quad/car - it's uncomfortable but worth it.

This particular tour seems to be popular with Portuguese-speaking groups, so most of the information was given in Portuguese. However, Hamil made sure to translate to English and Spanish to accommodate other travelers as well.

Bring enough cash in local currency to cover lunch, snacks, souvenirs and TIPS!

Chose this the cheapest trip on Trip Advisor, the only difference when we got there was that we were picked up in a minibus not a 4x4!
This was the experience of a lifetime, and was incredibly well organised. Coffee and cake before the flight, and a good breakfast after it. But the 1 hour flight was incredible! Each balloon had a team of helpers who prepared it for the flight, then followed us to the landing point where they caught the basket immediately. Our Lithuanian pilot was highly experienced, knowledgeable and funny, giving us information while rotating the balloon so everyone got the best views. These were spectacular with the sunrise when we were high in the air and then the flight over local villages. Absolutely unmissable!
