- MAM222 contributionsThis was our 2nd visit to Greenwell; the 1st was 5 years ago. This time brought friends. Very informative and enjoyable guided walking tour and it was free. Also there were lots of coffees to try. Very thoughtful company; they even gave out umbrellas for the sun.Written 15 August 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Laura MKiel, WI4 contributionsPretty hot and humid but loved the local market. Fascinating to see so many different types of produce. There was another side selling goods. Felt more flea market than handmade goods but did find a few gems of local artist items. Interesting shops and restaurants in the area also to check out so worth a couple hours of your time.Written 18 August 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Catherine GCNew York City, NY19 contributionsAlthough I see some reviewers complaining many stores here are closed ,we very much appreciated having this shopping center just down the street when we stayed at Mauna Lani Point. My daughter and I enjoyed poking around the beachwear shops and grabbed her some flip flops. But the biggest draw was definitely the Foodland. Really solid selection of products, whether you want to pick up prepared foods or ingredients to cook at home, and staff could not have been nicer or more helpful. They made every trip to the store A+. And we loved the selection of local products, esp. the chocolate and dried fruit.Written 12 November 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - lovetodanceandtravelPahoa, HI16 contributionsThe Maku'u farmers market is my favorite on the Hilo side of the Big Island!! If good eats is what your craving, there is a variety of good eats to include thai, Mexican, Japanese, bbq, crepes, local favs, lots of vegetarian options, coffee and danishes, and desserts! If you ate looking for plants, look no further. Ive found rare plants like the peanut butter fruit tree, lemon eucalyptus, and moringa.fruit and veggie stands are endless with local papaya, avocado, breadfruit, breadfruit, mango, rambutan, durian, and many others! Let's talk sweets... my favorite honey vendor whose farm is on the southeast of the island. Nice guy, let's you sample the different varieties of honey from the bees that pollinate macadamia, lilikoi, and mango fields before purchasing. You can also find local art, jewelry, clothing, knick knacks, massage, and fresh coconuts here. Often times, there is live music in the dining areas. Open on sunday's only, lots of parking, $2 per car.Written 10 March 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - MIZT13Long Island, NY651 contributionsI have been there numerous times, last one November 2019. Vera and her husband are great people! Always fine artwork to look at and purchase! If you miss Hawaii like I do, can't wait until this is over so I can safely hop a flight and return to my favorite place to visit, just get on Vera's email list. You may see a piece of artwork that catches your eye and reminds you of your past vacations. If you do, just buy it!!!!! Ya need to bring the Aloha to your home for awhile!!!!🌈🌞🌸🏵️🌺🌸🌊Written 6 November 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - NoraMilwaukee, WI27 contributionsWe liked Kings Shops but personally liked Queens Market Place better it had more stores and a better variety. The stores were not very interesting to us but the General Store was 10/10 we loved it! We probably went 5 different times and I would like to give a shoutout to Delson who works at the General Store he was so nice and helped us with whatever we needed. Overall I only go for the General Store I don't really like the other places.Written 22 March 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Loretta & Chad W2 contributionsMy husband and I visited Lava Light Gallery our 2nd day in Hawaii. We were in awe of the beautiful images the photographers captured. During our entire trip, my husband and I kept talking about the wonderful images the lava flow created especially after our helicopter tour around the island. Our last day there, we went back and purchased an image from CJ's private selection. What is amazing is their photos go well beyond the art work hanging in the gallery! YOU MUST ask them about the "hidden gems" he has!!!
Our beautiful picture arrived less than a week ago. We are so excited to hang it up once our custom lighting is finished!

Then all your senses are flooded with music, art, and lots of local produce, baked goods and food. Long lines at the bakery and wide range of food options to choose from. Getting in/out and parking a little challenging but soon forgotten as you ponder all the choices.Written 4 July 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Laurie C1 contributionWhat a collection of treasures in this charming gallery of hand-crafted Hawaiian art! Friendly and knowledgeable staff can point you in the right direction in selecting the perfect gift or keepsake for that special person.
When you arrive at the address, the shop may appear to be closed. But if you ring the doorbell, someone will be with you quickly (the cutest sign says "Try wait 3 minutes"). Check it out! You won't be disappointed!Written 1 January 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We loved the beautiful turtles, they looked so real. It means a lot to know these are locally made in Hawaii ❤️ Most are made by glass or wood, which are great! Please continue to use these metals. It helps the local economy.Written 10 July 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- Tom BSalida, CO2,240 contributionsA good place to stock up on some local fruits and vegetables. Get there early in the morning for the best selection. Some booths sold out before we got there. Parking was not a problem during our visit. No public bathrooms. Prices seemed to be reasonable as compared to grocery stores. Cash only.Written 15 February 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
