From Belize City about an hour ride to ruins. Pickups may run late (30-44 minutes) so don’t panic…but host responded to call and inquiry.

Had a group of 8 in the van. Rained so jacket or poncho handy. Sell at gift shops when arrive to Lamanai after boat ride.

Saw 2 crocodiles, termite nests, herons, many different birds, but could only hear howler monkeys in the distance.

Lunch was delicious. Chicken, rice & beans, chips and salsa all fresh and homemade. Drinks provided but take water.

Tour guide knowledgeable of history and native to the area.

    Great experience.

Great tour with Stacey and crew. Only reason why not 5 stars is company did not communicate that we needed to walk out to the pier which was just across the street from our hotel. They indicated we would be picked up. Only way we made tour is one of the taxi drivers in front of hotel told us. I sent company a couple of messages and no response. Horrible communication !!!

We wanted to send our thanks for a wonderful experience touring Xunantunich and going to the serene Inland Blue Hole! We had a very knowledgeable tour guide around the ruins and greatly enjoyed the drive with Charles. Charles was especially informative, kind, and open to letting us make additional stops along the drive to see specific locations that greatly enhanced our experience and allowed us to learn more about Belize and its history and culture. We truly had a memorable trip, and much of that was thanks to Charles. We would highly recommend this tour to anyone wanting to truly experience the beauty and richness Belize has to offer.

What a trip! Never done, or seen anything like it. Cameras aren't allowed, so no pics. Well organised, extremely informative, but physically quite demanding (OK for a couple of fit 60 somethings). Our guide Alex and driver Karim were so knowledgeable.

Elvin was hands down the best tour guide I have ever had, and the tour was beyond memorable. Elvin shared incredible knowledge about Mayan culture, biology and ecology, botany, medicine, archaeology, local culture, and so much more! I was so impressed by his versatility. But this was not even the best part; Elvin was clearly so passionate about his work which made the rest of us even more excited for all of the cool stuff. He took an extra 2-3 hours out of his day to extend our tour (with everyone’s permission) so that we could see things that most tourists do not get a chance to experience. He was friendly, accommodating, and took great care of us, always asking if anyone needed anything. We got to see monkeys, fighting iguanas, and other crazy things. I cannot recommend this tour and Melvin enough!

The rain didn't slow us down during our tour! Elio was a great tour guide and gave us lots of interesting information while touring Xunantunich. Then as we got into the caves we were blown away. We left the tubes behind and explored some amazing areas deep within the caves. Definitely something the whole family will remember for a long time!

Our new favorite excursion when we cruise to Belize! Our ship tender process was delayed but our tour leader waited for us. We felt safe the entire day. We were well cared for and relaxed while having a fun adventure with nothing to worry about. The river cruise was my favorite. The Mayan ruins were amazing. Our guide educated us about the ruins and the river wildlife. Ian took special care to point out the most interesting things.

This ended up being a private tour as my boyfriend and I were the only two who booked that day. Your guide was very knowledgeable and helpful. The temples are amazing and you can still climb the original stairs on two of them. The Caves were definitely the highlight. Such a cool experience. Be prepared with water shoes, although they rent crocs there if you forget. Lunch was provided at the end of the caves tour. The tapas are gluten free - a ground corn paste with boiled chicken inside. Wasn’t my favorite but I appreciate that it was gluten free!

Splash wave tours Saved the day!

We were 2 hrs late getting off the ship for a 5.5 hour shark and stingray tour. Thanks carnival!

Basically the large tour boats for all the excursion had already left.
For what my girlfriend and I went threw getting off the cruise ship splash wave tours ultimately saved the day for us.

A local fish captain agreed to take us out to the island and reef to swim with stingrays and shark and bring us back.
I was not made the boat that was available was older and smaller than the tour was set up for.

Captain Leslie kept us close to the chain of islands to keep the ride as smooth as conditions would let him.
Being born and raised there he was extremely knowledgeable of the island’s history and all the surrounding area of the country.
It is over a hour boat ride with a smaller boat to the reef but with a quick stop at the island for a bathroom stop and pre order lunch. Another splash wave tour guide joined us to go with us out to the reef.

YES! It is as amazing as you would think.
Standing in waste deep water like a cat stingrays brush against your legs. The sharks did not even care if you were petting them and yes they have a ruff skin and the stingrays were smooth.
The shark only cared about the dead minnows that were bing fed to them by the Captin.
We also took a few min to snorkel the deeper area of the reef where I seen a green eel and lots of small fish. The guide dove down and got a Congo shell to pass around for us to look at.

Back to the island to drop the guid off and have lunch. Shrimp and veggies were delicious and our rum punch was really good.

On the way back we stopped at an underwater cave ten feet off the shore with hundreds of tarpon about 3ft long swimming all over.
Leslie our captain showed us the best way to feed the fish by dangling minnows over the water from the boat.
Yes the long big tarpon would come out of the water and take the minnows from your had.
    (What an explosive experience)

    good food great people!

Really enjoyed this trip out here. So cool to see the ruins and be able to walk on them and learn and experience. Maybe the only downside is the size of the ruins are pretty small compared to the bigger ones out West (although they are still 50 feet high at least). That said Altun Ha is a much shorter drive and can be connected with another activity (we did the baboon sanctuary, but you could zip lining or cave tubing..).

Stacey was a great guide. She knew all about marine life and led a great snorkel excursion. We saw a lot of fish and coral. The lunch was delicious. I highly recommend the ceviche!

Went thru San Ignacio Shuttle Service. Our driver picked us up promptly and was a delight (Uedder). Sergio did our tour and they arranged for our tubes to be at the entrance so we didn't have to carry on the 1/2 hour informative walk. We swam in the beautiful water at the entrance and Sergio pulled us thru the cave and back to the start. We had a great lunch afterward and Uedder dropped us at the Belize water taxi. We are ages 65-73 and it was a perfect trip!

Our family had a wonderful time. Albert was very knowledgeable and entertaining. Be aware that there is an uphill hike to get to the ruins. It’s quite a workout. We learned a lot about Xunantunich, Belize, and the culture. We had pupusas and burritos for lunch at a local market. Overall, a great day.
