Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- northernkPhoenix, AZ13,283 contributionsWonderful area to unwind as so many people were doing on this day, with BBQ, picnics, games and fishing and walking etc.... Just a nice peaceful and calm part right outside the Charles Paddock Zoo.Written 25 July 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - warrenbruinTehachapi, CA158 contributionsI just walked all around and through this park at four in the morning and felt quite safe, even though a homeless guy was sleeping on a bench there (well lit, law enforcement driving by regularly), but women who walk early should be two or more if it’s dark. I really enjoyed the solitude and the air temperature, but know that very early they water the grass. During the day a pretty fountain flows and nice views can be had from many benches. BTW the brickwork is very even and well placed.Written 27 July 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- OriolesBeachBumWestminster, MD87 contributionsWe were staying in this town unexpectedly due to a car breakdown on a trip. We made the most of our day by checking out this zoo. It was a nice surprise to find it here. A small zoo, but the animals were entertaining, especially for my 11 year old son who loves animals. A nice place to spend a couple of hours. $10 per person admission.Written 8 July 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - 10sChickPortland, OR279 contributionsThis is a nice short hike in a beautiful Oak forest, and I do mean Oaks, everywhere...as far as the eye can see. The trail is super clean and a consistent 4’ wide hard pack dirt path. Can be done with any walking shoe or sturdy sandal. Nothing treacherous or too steep. It’s a slow steady uphill on the first half of the loop and the reverse on the way back. Lots of wildlife and some beautiful views along the way. Also, we went in the heat of the day and there’s lots of mixed sun/shade, so still a very comfortable walk. All said, you’ll be in and out in a little over an hour. You definitely need to go in through the neighborhood, following the signage to the parking lot and trail head. There are lots of little brown signs. Do not think you can park anywhere on Hwy 41 and get to it easily like some GPS options make it seem. Even though the trail is right there, it’s on the other side of the creek and maybe only by horseback would you attempt it.Written 30 April 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Suzie TSan Luis Obispo, CA23 contributionsA well maintained trail, with the exception of the star thistle in some parts of the trail. If your dog tend s to roam off the path, be careful of foxtails. Well enough traveled to be a safe trail. Please pick up after your dogs, as bags are provided.Written 17 October 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Beth SSouth Lake Tahoe, CA489 contributionsThere is lots of up and downhill walking. The map at the kiosk does not show the topographic layout so it's hard to tell what trail to take. We hiked all of the trails and there are some that required a few stops along the way do the steepness of the climb. They were all do-able. We ran into a couple of courteous bikers along the way who were able to handle the hills.Written 20 February 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Lompoc93436Lompoc, CA30 contributionsThe docent was very knowledgeable and gave us some interesting tidbits. Without visiting the museum we would have never known the fascinating reason for Atascadero and how it came to be. Worth taking 45 mins of your time, if in Atascadero.Written 31 January 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. I did not feel rushed during the tasting, nor did I feel like I had to wait forever for the next bottle. They are very friendly, accommodating, knowledgeable and ready to answer all my questions. They also do events such as paint and sip. I highly recommend this place!Written 6 June 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
